Following a game of court wisk, Gary and Cathy opened the many gifts. Both thanked everyone, Lunch and a social time followed. Sunday, Mr. & Mrs. Andy Thompson were hosts for a family presentation for Brenda and Fred. Cindy Donaldson Fenton was the recipient of many bridal showers. The Clandeboye Community presented Cindy with a vacuum cleaner and an iron. A miscellaneous shower was given by her family and friends and held at her mothers home. The groom's sister, Mrs. Tony Giammarco was host for a miscellaneous shower, and friends and neighbours at Belgrave had a grocery shower for her. By MRS, RENA CALDWELL KIPPEN The KippenU,C,W. met June 14 for their regular monthly meeting. Mrs. E. Anderson had the worship and opened with a poem entitled "June". Mrs. D. Cooper, president, chaired the rest of the meeting. The roll call was answered by naming a former minister of Kippen Church. The various reports were read and business discussed and approved. The ladies are planning to hold two bake sales at Homestead, on July 2 and August 13. Mrs. Harold Jones gave the topic and also gave a brief run down of her bus trip and tour of Eaton's New Centre in Toronto, Mrs. Ross Broadfoot en- tertained with some musical numbers. The hostesses Mrs. Wni. Consitt and Mrs. Robert Turner served a delicious treat, cake, ice cream and fresh strawberries. Mrs, David Cooper gave courtesy remarks. KIPPEN EAST W.I. MEETS. Kippen East Womens Institute had as their guest speaker Mr. Ivor Bodenham when they met on June 15 in the home of Mrs. Harry Caldwell, Mr. Bodenham said that there are three people concerned in the Bible, Adam, you and Christ. Your biggest change is to get out of the family of Adam and into the family of Christ. We are all free moral agents who can make our way to Christ. Mrs. Al Hoggarth, president, conducted the meeting and read a poem, "Thanks for dirty dishes". The roll call, a Canadian Beauty Spot, brought out that Canada from coast to coast is very beautiful and each province has its own distinctive beauty. Reports were given on the District Annual by Mrs. Robert Kinsman, The Workshop by Grace Drummond, the seventy- fifth Anniversary by Margaret Hoggarth, and the Treasurers report by Mrs. Harold Parsons. Current events were given by Mrs. Grant MacLean and the Banquet plans were presented by Mrs. Vern Alderdice who also gave the motto, "Don't worry about the things you can't change, save your energy for those you can". Members decided to have the uniforms and badges for the Ploughing Match and were asked by the President to give some thought as to how to celebrate the 75th Anniversary. Mrs, Harry Caldwell had a musical contest for which Mrs. Ross Broadfoot played. The winners were Mrs. Grant MacLean and Mrs. Hugh Par- sons. The meeting closed with 0 Canada and Mrs. Dave Triebner and Mrs, Ross Broadfoot served lunch. Personals Strawberry picking at Bell's and Lovell's is the order of the day. CLANDEB0YE The Clandeboye Women's Institute held their June meeting at the Craigholme Nursing Home at Ailsa Craig June 14. The President, Mrs. Art Hodgins was in charge. The meeting opened with the Institute Ode followed by the Mary Stewart Collect and the Lords' Prayer. June Henry read the Scripture. The roll call was a favourite verse I remember from my autograph book. Several residents of the home par- ticipated in the roll call as well as thirteen members from Clan- deboye Institute. There were nine visitors and about thirty five residents present. Community singing was en- joyed by the residents with Mrs. Beulah Hardy at the piano. Barbara Carter gave a humorous reading "My first wedding" and Ruth Hill, a reading about a "Small Farm Grandma". Solos by Terri McRoberts and Laurie St. Pierre of Lucan were really enjoyed by all present. After serving a lunch of hors d'oeuvres and homemade cookies, provided by Clandeboye W.I., each resident received a bag containing an orange and several peppermints. Everyone enjoyed the get-to-gether and hope to visit "Craigholme" more often. A short business meeting was held in the Board room, following the social time. The County Rally will be held at Poplar Hill July 26 and Clandeboye are responsible for supplying and serving the cake to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Women's Institute of Ontario. The Darling wedding to be catered to on August 6, has been moved to the Ilderton Community Hall as the Lucan Arena will not be ready. Group 2 will be in charge of the wedding meal. HONOUR BRIDE ELECT A community shower in honour of Miss Brenda Lewis was held Tuesday night at St. James Anglican Church. Gladys Cun- ningham conducted a contest on Cans and was won by Olive Simpson. A scrap book made of magazine pictures to represent Brenda and Fred's life was put together by all present and created a lot of fun and laughs.
