Dear Sir:
I would like to take this op-
portunity to express a sincere
thanks to the Town of Exeter for
the sponsoring of a social evening
on Monday, June 6, in con-
junction with the annual meeting
of our. Association.
The Mayor of your beautiful
town - Mr, Bruce Shaw - attended
all three evenings for a short
while and left an impressive
feeling of welcome on behalf of
the Town of Exeter with the
delegates at the convention of the
Ontario Assoication for Coun-
selling and Attendance Services.
Our association as indicated in
the title had representatives from
all parts of Ontario in attendance
and they all expressed their
thanks for the participation of
Bruce and the Town of Exeter in
helping to make our Convention a
success. They will all return to
their various places of residence
with a warp's, friendly feeling
toward Exeter close to their
hearts.
It is evident that the ratepayers
of Exeter have made a good
choice in giving Mr. Shaw the
privilege of representing them as
head of council
Sincerely yours,
D. M. Young,
Attendance Counsellor

The provincial election brought
no changes to area ridings as
incumbents were solidly returned
in Perth, Lambton and Middlesex
Thursday.
Perth Liberal incumbent Hugh
Edighoffer increased his
majority by defeating
Progressive Conservative Vivian
Jarvis and New Democrat
candidate Carson McLaughlan.
Edighoffer finished an easy
first place with a 12,000 votes
margin over Jarvis. Edighoffer,
a 48 year old Mitchell department
owner, was first elected in Perth
during the 1967 election, and will
return to Queen's Park for his
fourth term.
Fifty-three percent of the
electorate turned out at the Perth
polls compared to a 65 per cent
turnout in 1975.
Lambton riding was returned
to Progressive Conservative
Lorne Henderson despite Liberal
Fred McCormick's third attempt
to win the riding. McCormick
came within 1,800 votes of
Henderson during the 1975
election but fell 2,863 behind the
incumbent Thursday.
Henderson tallied 11,604 votes
against 8,741 for McCormick and
1,702 for the NDP candidate
Clifford Swanstrom.
Henderson, a 56 year old
Enniskillen farmer, has
represented Lambton riding for
14 years.
Middlesex riding returned Bob
Eaton with a comfortable margin
despite' Liberal and NDP hopes
,for a victory. Eaton,won 10,427
"votes with Liberal Don Nisbet
gaining 8,889 supporters and
