The 4-H girls were guests of the
Dashwood WI at their June
meeting for Family and Con-
sumer Affairs with Mrs. Gordon
Bender, convener.
The girls modelled their caf-
tans, jumpsuits and gowns they
made in their 4-H project
"Clothes for leisure wear". An
The week of June 19 to 25 has
been designated Senior Citizens'
Week in Ontario and the residents
of Huronview will be hosting one
or more of the seniors' clubs of
the county each day.
The Committee of
Management has declared open
house for the week and invites not
only the clubs but all citizens over
60 to come and join in the
programs.
For this week only, the dining
room will be open to senior
visitors and volunteers at $1.00
per meal. It would be appreciated
if clubs or individuals who are
planning to stay for meals would
let us know in advance. Dinner
for visitors will be served at 12:45
p.m. and supper at 5:30 p.m.
The week's activities will
commence with a special church
service in the auditorium con-
ducted by guest minister, Rev. J.
Ure Stewart of Seaforth. Ontario
St. Church, Clinton, junior choir,
men's quartette and organist
Doris McKinley will provide the
music. Visiting Clubs will be:
Monday, June 20, Bayfield and
Blyth; Tuesday, Brussels and
Clinton; Wednesday, Exeter and
Hensall; Thursday, Dashwood
exhibit was on display by Dash-
wood, Club 2.
Gifts were presented to the
leaders a nd girls receiving county,
provincial and advanced honors.
Current events prepared by Mrs.
Irvin Rader were on display.
Mrs. Ray Rader presided for
the business. It was decided to
purchase tickets for the
Playhouse production "Any
Wednesday". A bus trip is being

Goderich and Zurich; Saturday,
Seaforth and Wingham,
Celebrations will end on
Sunday, June 26 with morning
service in the auditorium con-
ducted by our regular Chaplain,
Rev. W. McWhinnie and special
music by resident, Mrs.
Henderson and an evening song
service with the Clinton Christian
Reformed Church group assisted
by their Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Shirley Luther led the
Sunday evening song Service
sponsored by the Christian
Womenh Club. Mr. Luther ac-
companied at the organ for the
hymns and for a vocal duet
number by Elsie Henderson.
The weather was perfect on
Monday evening for the annual
Spring drive, sponsored by the
Exeter United Church. The cars
arrived at the Home at 6:30 and
all of the residents who were
able, had a lovely two hour drive
to several areas in the county.
This event is one of the highlights
of the year at the Home and many
thanks to those who provided
cars and arranged the drive.
The Central Huron Secondary
School Band played for a concert
on the front lawn on family night.
Miss Story is director of the
thirty-piece band and although
the, evening was cool, a great
many of the residents were able
to enjoy the concert from the
rooms on the west side of the
building and the front entrance.
Three new members were
welcomed to the over 90 Club at
the June meeting, Mrs. Grasby,
Mrs. Fremlin and Mrs. Foran.

planned by the executive. Mrs.
Gordon Bender gave a report
from the Officer's Conference at
Waterloo and Mrs. Earl Keller
the District Annual. Mrs. Harry
Hoffman gave a short report
from the Dashwood Community
board,
Irvin Steinman, Dashwood,
spoke to the ladies of his work
among the retarded in Quebec
and showed slides of the pic-
turesque village.
Ladies' Aid
Group 3 with Mrs. Lovella
Tieman convener was in charge
of the Birthday Party at the Blue
Water Rest Home, Wednesday,
for the Ladies' Aid meeting.
Mrs. Lorne Genttner,
president, welcomed every one
and a short program followed.
Numbers by the Junior choir;
Sue Ann Schroeder sang and
played the guitar; Mrs. Hilda
Rader gave two readings; the
Rader sisters, Carol and Bar-
bara, numbers on piano and
guitar; Jayne Hayter solos ac-
companying herself on the piano;
Carol Rader, piano selections.
Mrs. Mellecke conduCted
closing devotions with a
DOCTOR — Donald T. Jolly, son
of Mr. and Mrs.' Donald G. Jolly,
Exeter, graduated last week at
the University of Western Ontario
with a degree of Doctor of
Medicine. Dr. Jolly has entered a
two-year residency program in
family medicine at the University
of Western Ontario. He will be af-
filiated with Victoria Hospital and
the Southwest Middlesex Health
Centre.

Datars and Jayne Hayter sang
"Evening Prayer".
Following the Hymn of Grace
group 3 served birthday cake and
ice-cream. Those having bir-
thdays were Mrs. Bowman, Mrs.
Hogarth, Mrs. Stirling, Mr.
McAllister, Mrs. Sch-
wartzentruber and Mrs. Munn.
Mrs. Genttner conducted a
short business meeting Twenty-
one members were present. The
Altar Guild reported 33 visits, 11
treats and two flower plants, The
new Guild is Mrs. Ray Rader
and Mrs. Earl Keller. It was
decided to have a bakeless bake
sale. The meeting closed with the
Lord's Prayer.
Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader ac-
companied by their daughter,
Sharon, of London spent last
week at Inverlocky fishing. The
weather was good and although
they didn't bring home too many
fish they have some good fish
stories to tell.
Mrs. Lloyd Rader, Mrs. Glen
Rader, Heather and Alan, Mrs.,
Irvin Rader, Mrs, Dave Rader
and Stacey attended a
miscellaneous shower for Debbie
Marshall, bride-elect of July at
the home of Mrs. Wendell
Gamble, London, Sunday.
A large number from Zion
Lutheran church attended the
Dedication Service of Goderich
church and the Festival Service,
Sunday. '
Dashwood Senior Citizens'
picnic will be held at the pavilion
Monday at 6 p.m. Bring a cup and
cutlery.
Mrs. Lloyd Edighoffer, Mit-
chell, Mrs. Clayton Ankeman and
Miss Lyda Sitter, both of
Waterloo, were Sunday supper
guests at the Earl Guenther
home.

Mr. & Mrs. Joe Wragg and
baby daughter are getting settled
in their home purchased from
Lee Anderson,
Mrs. Irvin Rader accompanied
Mrs, Fred Miller, Zion and
Sharon Rader, London, to Grand
Bend, Monday, where they
visited with Mr, & Mrs. Wellwood
Gill.
Mrs. Ernest Koehler is staying
at the home of her daughter Mrs.
Bob Hayter as she had the
misfortune to fracture a bone in
her foot. Ernest Koehler is .a
patient in South Huron Hospital.
Mrs. Hilda Wein has been
released from South Huron
Hospital.
Miss Vickie Miller left Wed-
nesday for Brazil, South
America, to join "Holiday On
Ice" where she expects to be for
the next year.
Mrs. Freida Keller was
hostess at a surprise birthday
luncheon for Loretta Keller on
the occasion of her 63rd birthday,
Tuesday. Others present were
Martha Miller, Beulah Desjar-
dine, Wanda Reynolds and
Florence Keller,

Cann, daughter of Bruce and
Susan Cann, Exeter, graduated
recently with a Bachelor of
Education degree from the Diver-
sity of Western Ontario. She has
been on the dean's honor list each
year. Christina has accepted a
primary teaching position with
the South Dorchester Public
School in Elgin County.
