Purpose of this meeting was to plant flowers in the urns and flower beds around the church. The devotional period centred on the theme, "The Beauty Around Us," arid a responsive reading. Two readings were given from books written by Gwen Frostic. The first was about our depen- ddnce on Nature from "Wing Born," and second on how man can destroy nature, from "Contemplate," To further appreciate and experience the beauty of Nature, Scenic books were passed around and each one to write poetry fror a picture. Durimg the social time two games were played. Leroy Keyes was the recipient of a surprise gift of a "Pet Rock" on the oc- casion of his birthday. Friends came from Brussels, Galt, Toronto, Brampton,Walton, and Crediton. Mrs. McCallum is Mrs. Preszcator's sister. Mrs. Mary Thornton is a patient in Seaforth Memorial Hospital. Karen Guenther led in the service and was assisted by Eric and Glen Bullock. Two selections were rendered by a youth choir. Meets The U.C.W. held their June meeting at the home of Mrs. Edna Woodburn, Grand Bend. Rev. and Mrs. Harley Moore were in charge of the program. Mrs. Jacob Lagerwerf presided during the business session when plans were completed for the strawberry and ham supper, this month. Mrs. Lawrence Curts assisted the hostess in serving refreshments. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Selbourne English visited over the weekend with the latter's sisters and families in and around Cornwall. Grand Bend United came up against the No. 1 rated South Western Ontario Senior Pee Wee team on Sunday, when they travelled to Centennial Park, Sarnia to take on the National All Stars and gained a 5-5 tie. Sarnia dominated the opening minutes of play, but their early lead was short lived thanks to a well executed equalizer from Grand Bend centre-half Doug Relouw. The home team stormed ahead again with two unan- swered goals, but the "Pinery Panthers" made it 3-2 when left- winger John Wiendels shot home from close range. Sarnia opened the second-half as they did the first, dominating play and scoring early. With only 15 minutes remaining, Grand
