.News. from Parkhill Staffa WI hears about farm safety

STAFFA
The safety meeting of the
Staffa Women's Institute was
held Wednesday evening May 25
in the township hall with twelve
members and thirteen visitors
present,
Mrs. S. Connolly, Chairman of
the Perth. County Farm Safety
Association introduced the guest
speaker, Mr. James T. Ross,
Area consultant on Farm Safety
who showed a thought provoking
film on "Tractor Safety" and
spoke of the accident hazards
common to farmers and farm
workers.
Mrs. Charles Douglas presided
and after opening with the Mary
Stewart Collect read a poem,
"Take Time."
Staffa No. I 4-H Homemaking
club had set up an exhibit on "A
money saving dish" with Miss
Marion Smale the commentator,
During the business invitations
were read from St. Columban
C.W.L. to join with them at a tea
and social evening June 15, to
attend a meeting at the Family
Life Center on June 7 where the
topic will be "Diet for a small
planet".
Mi's. Gordon Fraser,
Mr. & Mrs. Tony Humphries,
Sarnia visited with Mr. & Mrs.
George Charlton on the week-
end.
Recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs.
Newt Hayter were Mr. Leon
Dearing, Sarnia, Staff Sergeant
Glen. and Mrs. Hayter, Sarnia.
John Hayter and friend, Sarnia,
have returned from a pleasant
holiday touring the Canadian
West and California,
Mr. & Mrs. Tony Ansems, and
family visited her parents Mr. &
Mrs. Carl Anderson in Newbury,
Sunday.
Mrs. Ella Ray Hayter spent a
few days with Mr. & Mrs.
Richard O'Rourke and girls.
Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Charlton,
Jim and Wayne visited Sunday at
Ailsa Craig with Mr. & Mm. Doug
McNair, Laurie and Charleen.
Mr. & Mrs, Joe Mellow, Wind-
sor spent the week-end with Mr.

interesting.

more careful driver or
pedestrian.
Mrs. Charles Douglas on behalf
of the Staffa Womens Institute

Mrs. John Wallace for her out-

Forrest, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Edison Forrest, RR 2 Hensall, has
graduated from Wilfrid Laurier
University, Wgterloo, with a
Bachelor of Science degree in
chemistry. She has accepted a
position with the Syncrude Oil
Company at Fort McMurray,
Alberta as a laboratory techni-
cian.
Hibbert ball schedule
standing as a 4-II leader, She has
lead 30 consecutive 4-H clubs.

Bill Mahon hosted the evening,

Stratford for the Needlepoint
course were Mrs. Bill Mahon,
Mrs. Charles Douglas and Mrs,
Glen Elliott.
