The Dashwood club travelled to Stratford Tuesday night and were swamped 16-1 by the Stratford Hillers of the Senior Intercounty loop. Other teams in the Huron- Perth are the Crediton Mets in .addition to Clinton and Thorn- dale. The Tigers will also be playing exhibition games throughout the season with Walsingham, Tillsonburg and Cambridge. The only Dashwood run was scored by Brad Gregus as the result of a walk and a cduple of Stratford fielding miscues. Dashwood pitching duties were shared by Jim Guenther, Perry Stover and Bob Hoffman. Rally for 1977. Members from 12 Auxiliaries, led by the color party, under the directions of Parade Marshal, Comrade Percy Noels and color sergeant, Comrade Phil Campbell paraded to the cenetaph, where Reverend G. Anderson gave the invocation and Provincial Officer, Maxine Jarczek Essex laid the wreath. The parade, led by the Dash- wood Seaforth Band then returned to the Legion Hall where registration took place. The meeting was opened by Vice- President Esther Hillman, who called upon Mayor Bruce Shaw and Legion vice-president Roy Hunter for a few words of welcome from the Town and the Legion respectively. Zone Commander Peg Coombes, Seaforth introduced the 12 presidents and secretaries and the yearly reports of each Auxiliary were then given. During the recess Marguerite McLeod, accompanied by Mrs. Donna Pridham, entertained with a comedy number entitled "Alice Blue 'Gown." A report of Zone Sports was read by Margaret Thorndyke, Clinton, Provincial 3rd Vice President, Maxine Jarczek brought greeting from Provincial Command and congratulated the girls for a job well done in the Zone. Barb Hearn, Exeter was elected Zone Sports Officer, The 1978 rally will be held in Kin- cardine. A total of 120 registered for the rally. Fred Campbell of the Hensall Combines was the recipient of the Royal Bank of Canada trophy as the most improved player during the regular season. The most valuable player trophy presented by the Crediton hockey club was won by John Hayter, the goalie of the Shipka Colonials. The Leroy Walker trophy to the The Dashwood Tigers will open the regular Huron-Perth in- termediate baseball season on their home field at the Dashwood park Friday night. Taking low net honours were Don Cowan at 68 and Glen Kadechuk with a 69. In "B" flight Don Gifford at 82 and Terry Price with 84 were the lowest in gross and taking low net prizes were Wayne Brunzlow and Jim Campbell, John Hayman with an 88 was best in low gross in the "C" division. Next came Dick Etherington at 92. The low net winners were Henry Dyck and Al Lavier.
