Six baptised at Mother's Day service at Centralia

CENTRALIA
During the service in the
United Church Sunday morning
Rev. John Beaton administered
the rite of Baptism to six
children, namely; Tammy
Louise and Jason Robert,
daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Haist; Carol Louise,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Hollings; Jason Shawn Eldon,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley
Hodgson; Tracy Marie and Todd
Gordon David, daughter and son
of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mayer.
Music for the Mother's Day
Service was provided by a ladies
choir.
Harry Schroeder paid tribute to
Mothers with his vocal solo "A

The Greenway United Church
Women held their May meeting
at the home of Mrs. Alice Hartle,
Parkhill. Study and worship were
led by Mrs. Harvey Eagleson and
Evelyn Curts.Lunch was provided
by Mrs. George Dixon.
Rev. Harley Moore baptized
the daughter and son of Mr. &
Mrs. Clarence Steeper at the
United Church service Sunday.
Mother's Love". Harry had
composed the lyrics and tune for
his solo and sang to the organ'
accompaniment by Mr. Douglas
Gill. Congratulations Harry we
hbpe to hear some future ac-
complishments.
This coming Sunday (May 15)
there will be a service of
dedication for the church kitchen
followed by a pot luck lunch,
(sandwiches, cookies or squares).
Euchre Pa rtY
There were 10 tables in play at
the Euchre party in the Com-
munity Centre on Monday night
with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence
Hirtzel and Mr. and Mrs. Otto
Darling in charge. Prize winners
were; Ladies high score, Mrs.
Chas. Hollings; lone hands. Mrs.
They were Lori Jane and Kevin
Earl, grandchildren of Mr. &
Mrs. Earl Steeper.
Mr. & Mrs. Selbourne English,
Evelyn and Manuel Curts and
Viola Curts, London and several
folk from Grand Bend attended
the Saturday evening concert in
the Forest United Church staged
by the Scarborough A.O.T.S. Glee
Club.
Several from this area at-
tended the funeral services for
Ralph Lightfoot; low, Mrs. Don
Allen. Men's high, Murray
,Carter; lone hands, Nelson
Squire; low, Robert Blair.
Mr. & Mrs. Roy Swartz, Mr. &
Mrs. Wm. Lamport and Mrs. Ella
Fisher will convene the next
party.
Personals
Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Hodgins
spent the last week with their
grandchildren, Maureen, Jamie
and Chris Hodgins, Georgetown
while their parents were in
Florida.
Graham McBride was a week
end visitor with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin
Lobb. They were in Goderich on
Sunday where Mr. & Mrs. Lobb
attended the service in the North
Street United Church during
the late Annabelle Sherritt from
the Hoffman Funeral Home,
Dashwood Saturday. The death
also occurred at Bluewater Rest
Home, Thursday of Mrs. Norman
Kleinfeldt, sister of Mrs. Ervin
Eggert, Exeter, a former
resident here.
By the way! There's Davis and
Lewis and Smith. They're all
suggesting land reform, housing
reform, educational reform,
I'm beat! I suggest chloroform
which their grandson. Christopher
Lyndon received the rite of
Baptism. Following the service
they were guests at the home of
Mr. & Mrs. Kirk Lyndon.
Rob Essery was among the
students from S.H.D.H.S. who
were on a trip to Ottawa for a
couple of days last week.
Dr. and Mrs. Imre Toth of
Boston were in London over the
weekend and visited on Sunday
with her parents, Mr. & Mrs.
Kenneth Hodgins, at the home of
Mr. & Mrs. Keith Hodgins and
family, Georgetown. Mrs. Toth
was attending the Victoria.
Hospital Alumnae reunion.
Mr. & Mrs. Russell Wilson and
family were Mother's Day
visitors with Mrs. Wilson's
mother, Mrs, James Murray in
Arkona.
Mr. & Mrs. Norman Morgan
and family, Melbourne; Mr. &
Mrs. Burton Morgan and family,
Kitchener; and Mr. & Mrs. Earl
Miller and family, Woodham
were Sunday evening dinner
guests at the home of Mr. & Mrs,
Lloyd Morgan.
Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Hodgins
and Mr. & Mrs. Fred Bowden
were in Toronto for the weekend
where they attended the thirty-
fifth annual dinner of Canada
Packers Quarter Century Club at
the Sheraton Centre, It was also
the company's 50th Anniversary
year and films were shown
depicting 50 years of growth and
progress.
Mr. & Mrs. Ken Greb visited
over the weekend with Mrs.
Greb's mother, Mrs, Amos Smith
of Mount Albert.
Mrs. Ron Brittain of
Mississauga was a weekend
visitor at the home of her
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Powe.
The May meeting for United
Church Womenhas been changed
to Tuesday evening May 24 when
they will visit the United Church
Resource Centre in Mitchell.

Greenway church ladies meet
If you operate a business or farm and create a new
position for the summer, the Ontario Youth
Employment Program will give you a grant of $1 per
hour toward the wages of an unemployed youth you
hire for the job.
As a matter of fact, grants are available for up to
six new positions per business or farm for each
operational site, and you may hire any unemployed
youth between the ages of 15 and 24 who lives in
Ontario and is eligible to work here.
The program will be in effect from May 30th to
September 16th, 1977, but the full 16 week
commitment is not required.
Employer application forms for the Ontario Youth
Employment Program are available through your
Ontario Youth Secretariat

Ontario will help
employers pay
the salaries of youth
hired for the
summer months.
