Carol Rader and Sandra Schroeder from the Grade 11 and 12 French classes at South Huron District High School returned home Sunday after spending some time on a trip to Quebec and Montreal, They left Wednesday, going by train to Quebec and flew to Montreal and returned home by plane. It was a rough trip home Sunday in all the wind, but the girls had a wonderful time. Clayton Pfile has returned home from South Huron Hospital, Exeter. IRVIN RADER DASH WOOD Thirty-six members and grandmothers were present for a pot luck supper arranged by the Citizenship and World Affairs committee with Mrs. Emil Becker, convener, for the June meeting of Dashwood W.I. Prizes were awarded to the youngest grandmother, Mrs. Ted Ducharme; grandmother with the most recent grandchild, Mrs. Jessie Rader; grandmother with birthday nearest, Mrs. Verda Moulton, who had a birthday that day. The president Mrs. Ray Rader dealt with the business. Roll call was answered by giving a household hint. The District Annual is at Grand Bend. Delegates are Mrs. Gordon Bender, Mrs, Howard Datars and Mrs. Ray Rader. Fifteen dollars will be given to Pennies for Friendship. Fifty tickets are to be ordered for a play at the Country Playhouse. Mrs. Eben Weigand and Mrs. Howard Datars were nominated to attend the 80th anniversary celebrations at Bingeman Park, Kitchener, July 13. A fine is to be charged if members do not bring a guest when asked. Members are to bring ideas for a bus trip to the June meeting, Planned programs for the year were read. Mrs. Jessie Rader thanked the Institute for having the grand- mothers as guests. Everyone Thirty one people attended the ALPHA meeting held in Brussels Public School last week. Letters were received from Robert McKinley M.P., Jack Riddell M.P.P. and Murray Gaunt M.P.P. All three supported our efforts to make empty, upper- level apartments in Senior Citizen's Housing accessible to the handicapped. Members voted to have a form letter printed. The letter will explain ALPHA to interested joined in playing bingo with potted plants as gifts. Achievement Day Achievement Day for the Dash- wood 4-H clubs was held Satur- day at Stephen Central School. Those receiving County Honours were Charlene Hartman and Betty Rasenberg ; Provincial Honors, Susan Fischer; and Advanced Honors, Pat Bender. inquirers. Letters were sent to com- mittees in charge of building new grandstands at the local racetracks, ALPHA hopes they will consider the needs of the handicapped in the construction of these stands.
