A16-year old Grand Bend youth
was killed Saturday while he was
helping to demolish a shed on his
father's property.
Michael. Najdzion Jr., RR 2
Grand Bend, was working with
his younger brother, John, at the
time of the accident.
The youths had used a tractor
to pull the disused shed over and
the roof had landed on the
ground, still intact. Both were
then working under the roof when
it collapsed on top of them,
John was uninjured in the
mishap.
In addition to his parents and
brother, he is survived by one
sister, Ann Marie.
The funeral was conducted
from St. Christopher's Roman
Catholic Church in Forest on

The Grand Bend Golden Agers
played host to seniors from four
other clubs Wednesday in a day
filled with both fun and serious
moments.
The day began at 10 am with a
good morning cup of coffee and
registration. Over 100 seniors
from Grand Bend, Dashwood,
Goderich, Port Franks and
Clinton registered for the mor-
ning activities while their
numbers swelled to close to 150
for the afternoon.
The fun part of the day came in
sing songs and dancing to the
music of the Stratford Old Tvme
Band in the Ausable Centre on the
Main St. of Grand Bend. Rev.
Harley Moore brought greetings
to the seniors from the village as
Reeve Sharer was unable to
attend.
The more serious portion of the
day came with the introduction of
the guest speaker, Mr. Jim
Longman of London. The topic of
Mr. Longman's speech was
"Safety for Seniors" and Mr.
Longman humorously em-
phasized the many safety points
he discussed with hand drawn
cartoons featuring an accident
prone beagle named Rufus.
Mr. Longman said the
collective wisdom of such a group
is amazing, but none the less
seniors must be cautious whether
crossing the street, smoking, or
using electrical or propane ap-
pliances.
