Dashwood seniors
approve delegate

Dashwood Senior Citizens held
their meeting April 18 with 32
present. The president/ J. M.
Tiernan, conducted the business.
Projects were discussed and New
Horizon Grants for same will be
requested. An invitation to a

selected as delegate to the
Convention in Hamilton in

Youth Retreat
Daniel and Jonathan Mellecke,
Jayne Hayter and Mrs. Shiela
Miller attended a Youth Retreat
at Stratford over the weekend
where there were over 200 youth
in attendance, The theme was,
"Who am I God? Who is my
brother?" Dr. Waldo Werning,
professor from the seminary dt
Fort Wayne, was the guest
speaker. He stressed four sides,
physical, mental, social and
spiritual.
Bible study, singing and
fellowship were enjoyed
throughout the three days.

Miss Sharon Rader, London,
and Mrs. Irvin Rader visited with
Mr. & Mrs. Wellwood Gill, Grand
Bend, Thursday.
Lloyd Rader was pleasantly
surprised Saturday evening when
relatives and friends from
London, Stratford, Woodham,
Hensall and Dashwood called to
celebrate his appraching bir-
thday. The evening was spent
playing cards followed by a
buffet lunch.

Mr. & Mrs, Clarence Millson
celebrated their 60th wedding
anniversary Friday night, April
22.
Their family, who arranged a
reception and dance in the Exeter
Legion Hall included their
daughter, Ruth and Jim Beckett,
Kitchener; Ruth Ann and Wolfe
Bastert and Peggy, Cambridge;
Mary Lou and Bob Kingham,
Shawn, Ian and Wendy, Ottawa;
Sandy and Gus Wouters, Mat-
thew and Aaron, Aylmer; Ralph
and Marg Millson, Ken and Doug,
London; Don of Cambridge,
Gerald and Florence Millson,
Clandeboye, Debbie and Eugene
Glavin, Leona and Mark, Cen-
tralia, Mrs. Minnie Mardlin,
London, sister of Clarence
Millson, Joe and Amy Rusywick,
niece of Mrs. Millson, and their
daughter Beryl and Al Alpress, all
of Toronto were in attendance.
Other guests were from Kit-
chener, London, Exeter,
Prospect Hill, Lucan, Granton
and Clandeboye.
Special congratulations were
received from Her Majesty,
Queen Elizabeth, P.C. Leader,
Joe Clark, MP Robert McKinley,
Premier Wm Davis and
M.P.P. Jack Riddell. They also
received over 200 Anniversary
cards from relatives and friends.
An evening of dancing to
Skipper's orchestra, followed by
lunch, completed a most en-
joyable evening,

Clandeboye 4-H Club No. 2 held
their sixth meeting on April 20.
The roll call "Bring a picture of a
Canadian research has made
significant contributions to the
world-wide fight against cancer.
These include the development of
the Cobalt-60 beam therapy unit
which advanced radiation
treatment of cancer;
radioautography, a diagnostic
aid in tracing the spread of
cancer; and a drug called VLB
found effective in treating'
various forms of malignancy.
These and many other advances
have depended on the continuing
support of the Canadian public.
Give generously to the April
campaign of the Canadian,
Cancer Society to help scientists
in their fight against cancer.
