Roy Todd passes Roy Todd formerly of Hay township and son of the late Mr. & Mrs. George Todd passed away in Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy, Thursday, April 21 in his 87th year. Funeral service and committal was from the Bon- thron Funeral Home on Satur- day, April 24 conducted by Rev. W. D. Jarvis. Sew and Sews The fourth meeting of the "Sew and Sews" was held at Diane Gerstenkorn's house on April 19. The leaders demonstrated how to sew various trims on the girls' garments. They also discussed who would commentate for the girls, while modelling their gar- ments.The girls decided to have one girl commentate while the others were modelling. The next meeting will be held on Wed- nesday, April 27 at the usual time, Canoe race Congratulations to Rene Boogemans and Ted Cowen who took first place honors in the expert class in the Maitland River canoe race on Sunday. The race was organized by the Clinton Kinsmen to raise funds for cystic fibrosis research and was run from Auburn County Park to Holmesville. Canvassing for the Hensall Community Centre will be very thorough says a Kinsmen spokesman. Everyone in the village will, e called upon and if they are away one day they will be called upon the next. Wilfred Jarvis who has been minister of the congregation for the past eight years. Mr. Bert Thompson clerk of the session was master of ceremonies for the following program presented by the different organizations of the congregation. Mrs. Malcolm Dougall and Mrs. Edith Bell sang a duet "Let The Rest of the World Go By" and played a piano duet "Country Garden." A Skit presented by the Arnold Circle and Sunday School teachers was entitled "The Biff Jarvis Celebrity Roast." Mrs. John Baker was the narrater with parts taken as follows "The minister making a social call" by Mrs. Don Volland. "Finances of the church" taken by Mrs. Harry Moir. "The best front for the minister" taken by Mrs. Homer Campbell. "When a minister goes to tea" by Mrs. Murray Bell. "Version of the minister" by Mrs. Bill Tinney. Mrs. John Baker thanked Rev. St. Paul's ladies send bale north The regular meeting of St. Paul's A.C.W. was held in the church basement on Thursday afternoon, April 21. After packing a bale for the North, the president, Mrs. Frank Forrest opened the meeting with The Members Prayer. The Easter anthem was repeated in unison and Mrs. Windover then read the scripture from 1 Corinthians 15 verses 1-26. Mrs. Annie Read read the meditation from The Living Message.
