MR. AND MRS. JOHN MCCALLUM
The marriage of Velma J. McFalls and John S. McCallum was per-
formed at the Chapel at Huronview, April 1O, 1977, The bride was
given in marriage by her youngest son William. Her daughter Donna
Patterson was matron of honor and Fraser Neeb of Stratford,a good
friend of the groom was best man. A reception followed at Vanastra
Park with 66 friends and relatives attending. Rev. Harold Snell of-
ficiated. This is the f'i'rst wedding in 20 years at Huronview. The happy
couple have a lovely apartment in Huronview.

from sale
The South Huron Hospital
Women's Auxiliary held their
most successful rummage sale
ever on Friday.
The group raised over $4I00in
the one-day event held at the
Huron Park Recreation Centre,
In the past, the Auxiliary has
bought various pieces of equip-
ment for the hospital with the
returns from the sale. It is ex-
pected the same will be done
with the profits from this
spring's sale.
Co-convener Louise Giffin
termed the rummage sale "the
best ever" and on behalf of the
auxiliary thanked the people of
Exeter for the items they
donated to the sale.
Items not sold at Friday's sale
are being donated to the
Goodwill Industries in London.

MR. AND MRS. MURRAY PARSONS
Barbara Elaine Johns and Murray Douglas Parsons exchanged
marriage vows Saturday, April 16 at Exeter United Church. Rev. Glen
Wright officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
Johns, RR 1, Centralia and Mr. and Mrs. Frayne Parsons, RR 1, Hensall
are parents of the groom. The maid of honour was Lois Johns and
other bridal attendants were Ann Johns, Marg Parsons and Lori Johns.
The best man was Scott Morgan and guests were ushered by Paul Jef-
frey, Murray Johns and Mark Parsons. Following a honeymoon to
Niagara Falls the couple will reside at RR1, Hensall.

MR. AND MRS. GREG REVINGTON
St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, St, Joseph, was the setting for a
beautiful spring wedding, when Dianne Overholt, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs, Moxime Overholt of RR 2, Zurich became the bride of Greg
Revington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Reyington of RR 2, Lucan. Rev,
Father Bensette officiated at the double ring ceremony. Danny and
Karen Overholt and Dianne Ducharme provided the music during the
ceremony. Barbara Overholt, sister of the bride was maid of honour,
the bridesmaids were Miss Carla Revington, Miss Winnie Armstrong,
Toronto and Mrs, Brenda Relouw, Grand Bend, The groom's atten-
dants were Greg Sadler, RR 4, Thedford as best man, groomsmen were
Pete Revington, Wayne Overholt and Garry Greenlee. After the
ceremony a dinner and reception was held at the Pineridge Chalet.

Bavarian Inn in London Monday
evening where they enjoyed a
smorgasbord dinner,
After dinner President Sister
Sandra Hern held a short
business meeting. Sister's Olive
Hodgins and Lois Herbert who
were in charge of arrangements
conducted some word contests,
prizes were won by the following

At the Lucan United Church,
Rev. Cecil Jardine preached on
the theme of "A Man Found He
Could Take It". He impressed
upon all that just as Paul
received strength from God to
cope with his problems so may
everyone rely on God to give
strength to cope with the
pressures and trials of this day's
society.

May 1 which will feature a film

Women's Institute news
Mrs. Hamilton Hodgins was the
hostess for the Granton W.I.
Tuesday evening April 19. In the
absence of the President Mrs.
Gordon Dann ,Mrs, H. Hodgins
presided and opened the meeting
with the Ode and Mary Stewart
Collect. The roll call was an-
swered with the payment of fees.
Mrs. Don Roloson a member of
the nominating committee
presented a slate consisting of the
former executive, who agreed to
serve for another year, these
officers were accepted and in-
stalled by the Public Relations
Officer Mrs. Percy Hodgins.
Mrs. Hamilton Hodgins and
Mrs. Don Roloson were the
program conveners and had
invited Mrs. Gerald Hern to come
and sliow her pictures and tell the
members about her Hawaiian
Holiday, this was a very in-
teresting account of her trip with
her husband and four other
couples from the area, making
their headquarters in Honolulu.
The party visited such places
as the Brigham Young Univer-
sity, the Polynesian Culture
Centre and the Pineapple
plantations on the Island of Oahu.
Mrs. Hern also had some
souvenirs on display that she had
brought home with her, also her
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Larry
Hern attended the meeting and
assisted the speaker with her
slides.

dlesex District annual meeting
was anounced for May 17 at
Parkhill United Church,

At the United Church Rev.
Elwood Morden conducted the
Sunday morning service and took
his sermon from Solomon's Song
2-11-12 "For lo, the winter is past,
the rain is over, the flowers
appear on the Earth and the time
of the' singing of the birds is
come" and entitled it "The
Message of Spring".

At the St. Thomas Anglican
Church Rev. Mary Mills was in
charge of the 9:30 a.m. service on
Sunday and the subject of Rev.
Mills sermon was "What Bap-
tism and Confirmation means to
man" Confirination said the
minister, is a real promise to
follow God all the days of your
life.

Congratulations to Mel
Westman who celebrated his 83rd
birthday on Sunday, April 24, at
Bob and Shirrs restaurant on
Highway 4, with a family dinner,
We are happy to report that
Mrs. A. Carson is now home from
hospital and recuperating very
well, we wish her continued good
health.
Mrs. Donald Itoloson and
Kayleen have returned from a
visit to Mrs. Roloson's sister and
her husband Mr. & Mrs, Wit,
Anderson of North Bay.
Mrs. Newton Gunning has been
transferred to the Extendicare
Nursing Home in London from St.
Mary's Memorial Hospital. We
extend our best wishes.

Cancer will take plate on Sunday,
May 1. Let's all pray for good
weather and good results, The
ride starts from Granton to
Lucan at 1:30 p.m, from the War

The annual meeting of the
Elimville Women's Institute was
held April 13. The meeting
opened with the Ode and the
Institute Creed, The roll call was
answered by paying membership
fees.
The programme committee
were Phylis Gower and Muriel
Parsons, Danny Gower played
several accordion solos, Carol
Allen who represented the
Institute at the Farm Show and
won the title of "Farm Princess"
was presented with a gift from
the president Grace Pyrn and a
second gift from the president-
elect Gwen Coward 'on behalf of
the Institute. Carol spoke a few
words on her duties for the next
year.
Olga Hern had a display of
different quilts and quilt blocks
and also gave a very interesting
and informative talk on quilting.
The reports were given by the
standing committee conveners.
Marion Skinner installed the
officers for 1977-78.
Quite a number attended the
wedding reception for Mr, & Mrs.
Murray Parsons (nee Barbara
Johns) Saturday evening at
Kirkton-Wmiham Community
Centre.
The Thames Rd. and Elimville
United Churches held their Fun
Night on Friday evening, The
evening was closed with Rev.
Barry Robinson receiving whip
cream in the face,
The annual church service of
the Exeter Oddfellows and
Rebekahs was held Sunday
morning at the Elimville United
Church. Bruce Delbridge and
Ruth Skinner ushered and Floyd
Cooper read the scripture. The
choir sang two anthems.
Following the service lunch and a
fellowship hour was enjoyed by
all,
