No other car in the world can deliver the combination of perfor- mance, mileage, handling and room that the Volkswagen Rabbit can. No other car at any size. Or at any price, And that's the truth. Start with performance and mileage: The Rabbit can zoom from a standing start to 50 miles an hour in an astonishing 7,7 seconds. Yet incredibly, it can also deliver 45.2 miles per gallon on the highway and Cl stingy 30 mpg ill the city* (A combination unmatched by anyone, anywhere.) Then there's its size: The Rabbit is a big car. Not outside (it parks in almost no space), but inside. It seats four adults very com- fortably with us much legroom aii(I headroom as many "mid-sized" cars. It has five doors, including a rear hatchback. It has about the 0,-'4!!,.,4sci me glass area as a Lincoln Continent: II Mark V With the rear seat fr)Idef I down, ii has more luggage space than a Cadillac Fleetwood, Sci6ty? Front-wheel drive gives you better tracking. Rock-and- pinion steering gives you precise handling. If one brake circuit fails, a second one is still there. A totally new rear axle makes the car more stable on Is, rough roads. The pas- senger compartment is a unitized "safety cell". There are reinforced steel side beams in the door. Even the rear window defrosts electrically. If you still find it a little hard to believe that one car can have all of this, and do all of this, drop into your nearest Volkswagen dealership and take a VW Rabbit out for a test drive. You'll discover the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. eCt11,.. 11.1....14.1,-WP11/11,5155,4511V1.1,1111.1,101/ZIPMENtANLileNtlxil,.1N 5F W11:111CAR.
