Unit 1 met at the home of Mrs.
Austin Hobbs April 6 with Miss
Mabel MeNaughton presiding
and welcoming the guests as each
member was asked to bring a
friend to this meeting.
Mrs. Gordon Dann and Mrs,
Hobbs were program conveners,
Mrs. Dann presented a paper
taken from the Study Book,
Justice not Charity for our
'Northern Indians. This dealt with
the problems concerning the
MacKenzie Pipeline project.
This provoked a good
discussion, Mrs, Hobbs read two
poems "Spring" and the "The
Legend of the Dogwood",
Mrs. Leroy Bryan was the
hostess for Unit 3 April 5. Mrs.
Douglas Brown presided and
opened the meeting by reading an
article from the Observer en-
titled "Easter Thoughts"; Mrs.
Malcolm Kay and Mrs. Lawrence
/ Ready presented a program on #
Nutrition. Lunch was served by
Mrs, Chas. Hayden and the
hostess.
Mrs. Harold Hardie was the
hostess for Unit 4 April 6. Mrs.
Nelson Tate presided and opened
. with a hymn, and Mrs, James
Kerr read the Scripture, Lesson
Thoughts were entitled The Great
Vindication and the roll call was
answered with an "Easter
Verse",
Quilting was discussed and
final arrangements made con-
cerning the catering to the 40th
Wedding Anniversary dinner and
Open House for Mr. & Mrs. Floyd
Dykes, which was postponed on
account of the snow storm earlier
this year. It will be held Sunday,
April 17, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9
p.m.

Harold Hardie were the program

dens"; and "Easter Reverie".

At the United Church Rev.
Elwood Morden was in charge of
the Easter Sunday worship and
entitled his sermon "Glorious
Good News",From the Church
bulletin "Come and see! Go and
tell! Easter is the day of days and
the Queen of Christian Festivals.
There was special music from the
choir and flowers were placed in
the church in memory of the late
Wm. Cook and John and Betty
Head by their families,
Good Friday Service
At the Good Friday service at
the United Church Rev. Elwood
Morton was assisted by Rev.
Mary Mills of St, Thomas
Anglican Church. The Meditation
delivered by Rev. Morden was
entitled "Around the Cress".
C.G.I.T, and Explorer news
The C.G.I.T. opened their
meeting at the United Church
Thursday evening with a hymn
and the purpose. Leader Mrs.
Marion Gricken read an Easter
Prayer, the girls then worked on
a craft, making an egg with an
Easter Bunny inside.
The homework questions were
answered then the group had
"Taps" and used the remainder
of the time to finish another
project connected with their
Mexican study,creating Mexican
children out of crepe paper and
pipe cleaners,
The Explorers met at the
United Church April 3. Questiolis
were answered on the Old
Testament. The date was
changed for the Bunny Bundle
draw to Monday April 18.
At St. Thomas Anglican Church
Rev, Mary Mills was the
Celebrant at the Holy Com-
munion Service Easter Sunday
morning, Rev. Mills was assisted
by Miss Marion Herbert who also
read the Epistle of the day from
the third chapter of Colossians.
Rev. Mills in her sermon told of
what led up to the Resurrection,
of the past, present and future
and what it means to us at the
present time to our every day
living,
An Easter lily was placed in the,
Sanctury in memory of the late
Hannah Coxon and Wilda Clat-
worthy by the Chancel Guild.
Flowers on the Altar were in

Conestoga College in Waterloo,
is joining the staff of the T-A for
the next three weeks on Work Ex-

A speedy recovery is wished for
Mrs. Fred Couch who is
recovering from surgery in St.
Joseph's Hospital, London.
We are sorry to hear that Mrs,
Alvin Carson suffered a fall last
Thursday afternoon and as a
result injured her back and is a
patient in St. Mary s Memorial
Hospital, We wish her a speedy
recovery.

returned home after visiting her
sister ,Mrs. Bruce White and
family, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
