Why didn't we talk it over?
Time and time again every
funeral director hears this com-
ment.
Perhaps the most difficult
part about making funeral ar-
rangements is trying to choose
the kind of funeral service the
partner would have wanted.
Why NOT talk it over?
The Ontario Funeral Service Association suggests that
you talk it over in advance with your funeral director, so that you
will not be unprepared.

COUNTRY KITCHEN
The 1976.77 hockey season
came to an end for the Luean-
Ilderton Jets Tuesday night when
they dropped an 8-5 decision to
the Woodstock Royals at the
Ilderton Arena.
The Royals won the Ontario
Hoekey Association Continental
Senior final series four games to
one and now advance to the first
round of Allan Cup playoffs
against either the Barrie Flyers
or Brantford Forresters.
After losing the first two games
of the best-of-seven series a week
earlier, the Jets got back into
contention for a short time as
they squeezed out a 4-3 overtime
win Thursday. The Royals came
back to win 7-2 Sunday and
wrapped things up Tuesday.
After his club was eliminated,
Jets coach Don Urbshott said,
"We didn't play very well against
Woodstock. That's all there's to
it. We had two tough series
against Preston and London and
we were definitely tired."
"Woodstock appeared to be a
bit hungrier than we were and
wanted to win a little more,"
concluded Urbshott.
Move ahead ear ly
In Tuesday's final game, the
Royals wasted little time in
getting into the lead. They were
in front 4-1 at the end of the first
period and at one point late in the
second frame were ahead 7-1.
Jim O'Bright, Brian Paton,
Rick Kelly and Jim Vanni were
the first period Woodstock
marksmen while Bill Bannerman
replied for the Jets on a pass
from Randy Roth.
The only second period L-I
score came from Randy Roth on
a three-way combination with
Barry Baynham and Bill Bourne.
Scoring for Woodstock were Torn
Glover, Jim Cochrane and Rick
Kelly.
Brian Paton scored for the
Royals early in the third period to
The Bruins defeated the
Canadians 3-1 Saturday morning
to win the Huron Park-Exeter
house league championship three
games to one.
The Bruins opened the series
with resounding 11-0 and 9.2
victories before the Canadians
rebounded with a 4-1 decision in
the third game of the best-of-five
series.
In Saturday's finale the Bruins
goals were scored in single
fashion by Linda Barrett, Debbie
Lightfoot and David Rook.
The lone successful shot for the
Canadians came from the stick of
Dave Russell.
Calvin Stanlake took care of
most of the Canadians scoring in
their only victory of the series
with a three goal performance.
Two goals came on unassisted
efforts and the third was set up on
a pass from Bob Sims.
The only Bruin marker was
registered by Todd Lewis with
the assist going to Gary Harvey.
Debbie Lightfoot blinked the
red light five times in the 11-0
romp for the Bruins. Next in line

put his club ahead 8-2. The Jets
found a bit of scoring power in the
latter stages but it was not
enough.
Jack Chipchase scored with
assists going to Scott Graham
and Barry Baynham; Steve
Proctor hit unassisted and Bill
Bannerman scored on passing
help from Ed Robb and Bill
White.
A COACHES DISCUSSION
After Thursday's 4-3 overtime
triumph by the Jets over the
Royals the fans were treated to a
little extra excitement,
Immediately after the winning
goal which came from the stick of
Randy Roth, Woodstock assistant
captain Dave McLaren asked
referee Frank Slota to measure
Roth's stick.
In the excitement Slota
somehow or other got a hold of Ed
Parkinson's stick and measured
the wrong one. It proved to be of
"That's the way guys we Won."
Those are the words I heard
from the parents, not all but some
and the coach of the house league
Bruins.
That's right house league kids
from 5 to 10 years old that we are
supposed to be teaching fair play
and having fun.
Well, I don't know where the
fair play comes in when just
because the series is close the
above mentioned team picks up
the goalie of the team beat out
and tries for another but that
parent realizing whatS going on
says no.
When I sit my boy out and
another interested parent does
likewise because of the act
with two goal efforts were Todd
Lewis and Gary Harvey. Scoring
in single fashion were Ewan
MacGregor and Darryl Lammie.
In the 9-2 second game win,
Linda Barrett headed the Bruins
scoring with a four goal per-
formance.
Picking up two goals was
Debbie Lightfoot and the balance
came in single style from the
sticks of Gary Harvey, John
Hannah and Darryl Laramie.
Averting the shutout for the
Canadians with the only goal was
Calvin Stanlake.
proper standards and that was
the end of the situation.
Well, it was almost the end of it.
Meeting on the way to dressing
room coaches Don Urbshott of
the Jets and Barry Boughner
became engaged in a serious
discussion.
Despite a little pushing,
players of both teams were able
to clam their coaches down a bit,
without any further trouble.
Brian Parkinson provided the
assist' on Roth's winning goal
which came at 8.35 of the first
sudden-death overtime period.
The first period belonged to
Woodstock as the Royals took a 2-
0 margin on the scoreboard on
successful shots by Dave
McLaren and Tom Glover,
Two quick power play goals
early in the second period put the
Jets back on even terms.
At 3,59 with Woodstock a man
short Bill Bannerman converted
passes from Barry Baynham and
pulled oh its nothing they cried
at first, but then once explained
they both said "you know, that's
right I don't want to play for
cheaters,"
I'm proud of those two boys.
The coach and some of the
parents said "oh well we can do it
without them. They've only
played for us all year",
And as for the fun. I guess it
was for the kids, until some one
explains the details behind it all.
The game's all over. The
Bruins won the trophy, the coach
smiles, the parents cheer "way to
go we taught them, but again I
ask the question taught them
what?"
Barry Lewis
Brian Murphy and a minute and
11 seconds later, Brian Murphy
hit the mark on passes from Bill
Bannerman and Rick Fifield.
This time the ,Royals had two
men resting in the penalty box.
Only two minutes later, the
Jets took a one goal lead for the
first time. Pulling the trigger was
Randy Roth on a play started by
Jim Pinnegar and Brian
Parkinson.
Dave McLaren squared the
score for Woodstock with Scott
Graham of the Jets serving a two
minute penalty,
THREE GOAL PERIODS
Sunday night in Woodstock the
Royals hit for three goals in each
of the second and third periods to
ensure their 7-2 victory over the
jets.
The Royals took a fir st period
lead on a goal by Tom Glover and
made it 2-0 early in the second as
Don Jones scored on a power
play.
Jack Chipchase registered the
first score for the Jets at 8.45 of
the middle frame with assists
going to Barry Baynham and
Brian Murphy.
Before 40 minutes had elapsed,
Ray Tilley and Lee Barnes
scored for Woodstock to make the
score 4-1.
In the third period, Ed Robb
converted a pass from Bill White
for the second and final score for
the L-I club. Hitting the mark for
Woodstock were Jim Vanni, Jim
O'Bright and Don Jones.
Jack Chipchase and Brian
Murphy each picked up five
minute penalties from referee
Frank Martin. Chipchase was
sentenced for highsticking and
Murphy was sent off for the
retaliator in a fight after being
hit by Dave McLaren,
