Second ,bantams win medals
• Ilderton Sunday night in the
second sudden-death overtime
period but Tuesday night it was a
different story as they swamped
the Jets 11-0.
It was the worst defeat the Jets
have suffered since the team was
established nine years ago,
The third game of the best-of-
seven series will be played
tonight, Thursday at the Ilderton
arena with the fourth game back
in Woodstock, Sunday, A fifth
contest if necessary would be
back in Ilderton Tuesday night.
After Tuesday's humiliating
loss to Woodstock, Jets coach
Don Urbshott commented, "We
are down right now but we have
come from behind before. It will
depend on how much we want to
win."
He continued, "Sunday's game
could have been the turning
point. It's pretty discouraging
when you outshoot the opposition
62 to 35 and still lose,"
"Now we have to win at least
one game in Woodstock. Our
players seem to be tired. We have
played 13 games in the last 28
days," Urbshott concluded.
The Jets sent the London Kings
to the sidelines with a 3-1 win
Wednesday and a close 5-4
decision, Friday.
Outshoot opposition
In Sunday's opening game
against Woodstock, the Jets had
an edge in territorial play and a
wide margin in shots on goal but
were stymied by Royal net-
.. minder Ken Kitching.
The Jets fired 64 shots at
Kitching while their netminder
Cam Fink faced 38 shots from
Woodstock, Jets coach Don
Urbshott commented on Kit-
ching's performance, "He was
hotter than a pistol."
The Royals pulled the victory
out on a successful shot by Don
Jones at 5:09 of the second
sudden-death overtime period.
The Jets missed a golden op-
portunity during the first 20
minutes of overtime when Jamie
Robb bounced a shot off the goal
post on a penalty shot attempt.
Robb was awarded the penalty
shot by referee Bill Devorski
