Chiselhurst Church ladies entertained the residents with Bingo music and treats on Monday. Birthday greetings to Adeline Taylor who will celebrate her birthday April 12, Rev. Anderson of Exeter and Mrs. Eric Luther were in charge of the church services assisted by Louise Mitchell and Mrs. Erratt at the piano, We extend sympathy to Alex Irvine and family on the passing of Mrs. Irvine, Monday. Mr. & Mrs. Garth Blackler and Mrs. Raymond Paynter returned home from a weeks holiday in California. Master Brent Marshall and Lana Marshall returned home Saturday from California. They were visiting their grandparents Tuesday evening the ladies attending the Women's Institute quilting course met at the hall. Everyone put their block in their quilting frames and will quilt it during the week. Wednesday afternoon about a dozen ladies of the Institute at- tended a dessert meeting of the Hurondale Women's Institute at Usborne Central School, The president Mrs. Marian Dougall welcomed everyone and then everyone enjoyed dessert, The "Alethia Group" en- tertained, followed by an in- teresting talk on ceramics by Mrs. Joyce Morgan. Wednesday evening Elimville United Church Women met for their Easter meeting. Miss Ruth Skinner was in charge of the business, The roll call was a donation toward the Easter Shut- in boxes, It was decided to buy two Easter lillies for the church. The UCW will provide a number for the annual Alleluia Night, April 15, Ola Batten opened the worship part of the meeting. Mrs. Shirley Cooper and Mrs. Batten read the Easter scripture. Mrs. Elva Routly gave a very interesting Bible Study. CGIT Bowl The Thames-Road-Elimville C.G.I.T. had a bowling party on March 26 at the Exeter Bowling Lanes. The girls bowled two games, Pam Coward was high, Shirlee Ballantyne was second high; and Kathy Cooper had the most strikes. Following bowling the girls went to the Burkley for The Thames-Road-Elimville C.G.I.T. held their April meeting at the Elinville United Church on March 27, For discussion they discussed what the woman's role is today in church and whether Mr. & Mrs. Earl Watson who are holidaying in California, also. Recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Rea Stephen were Mr. & Mrs. Willard Schaefer of Kitchener and Mr. & Mrs. Oscar Pfaff of Crediton and Vickie and Debbie Pfaff of Exeter. Miss Norma Switzer has returned from a week holiday in Jamaica. they should change it. They went on a bus trip on Tuesday evening to London,They visited the Eldon House and went shopping af- terwards, 4-H meet The 2nd meeting of Elimville II 4-H club was held at Miss Joan Kerslakes, March 23, The roll call was answered by all those present. Robert Yates. Mrs, Don Willcox and family of Kitchener spent a few days with Mr. & Mrs. W. J. Routly. Mr, & Mrs. Lloyd Webber were treated to a lovely smorgasbord dinner at the Red Barn, London by their sons, daughters-in-law and Miss Gaye Fischer and later entertained at Janice and Craig Webbers to a surprise party by friends on their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary on Saturday evening, Guests Saturday evening with Mr. & Mrs. John Batten were Mr, & Mrs, Ken Kadey, Huron Park and Mr. & Mrs, Emerson Johns. Mrs. Ester Wilson visited with Mr. & Mrs. Steve Cushman of Barrie on Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Hillson Whiteford of Ingersoll visited Sunday with Amos and Herman Herdman and also called on Mr. & Mrs. W. J. Routly. Brian Penhale, Murray Johns and Jim Skinner have returned from a recent trip to Florida. Miss Mary Johns and Miss Denise Fletcher visited Holland, Germany and Belgium during the March break.
