The annual Fiddler's Contest
will be held in the arena as usual
this year in the third week of
June. Plans will be advertised
soon,
Visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Carl
Payne last Tuesday were Mr, &
Mrs. Ross Berdan of Union and
Mr. & Mrs. Harry Oakes of
Clinton,
Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Hyde have
returned from a most enjoyable
trip to Florida, travelling on both
the Atlantic and Gulf Coast sides
and up into the "Panhandle",
While there they met acquain-
tances from Seaforth.
Mrs. William Waring has
moved from Exeter into the
newly constructed Elizabeth
Court apartments on Elizabeth
Street. We welcome her to
Hensall, also Mr. & Mrs. Grant
St. John who moved to Hensall
recently and are living in the
previous Bonthron residence on
King Street.
Mr. & Mrs. Ross MacMillan,
David, Tom and Ann, Waterloo
visited Sunday with Mrs. Mac-
Millan's mother Mrs. Laird
Mickle and enjoyed a hot turkey
dinner.
Mrs. Harry Snell returned
home after visiting her brother-
in-law and sister, Mr, & Mrs. Don
Rigley, Blenheim.
Mr. & Mrs. Alf Ross have
returned from several weeks
vacation in Florida.
Mrs, Edith Campbell returned
home after vacationing for a few
weeks in Florida.
Mr. Len Purdy has been a
patient in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London.
Rev. W. D. Jarvis conducted
service in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday speaking on
the fourth Lenten message en-
titled "Jesus Our Brother in
Suffering."
Mrs. Dorothy Taylor presided
at the piano during the service of
song. The Movie "The Cross and
the Switch Blade" is being shown
at Brucefield Centennial School
Saturday 2nd at 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Glenn Bell and Mrs.
Bertha MacGregor were recent
visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Robert
Ulch and family at Russeldale,
Mrs. Mary Funk,London, was a
recent visitor with Mrs. Leona
Parke.
Mrs. William Smale returned
to her home on Saturday after
receiving treatment at South
Huron Hospital, Exeter,
Allan Bell is a patient in St,
Joseph's Hospital London where
he is receiving treatment
following surgery.
United Church
Rev. Don Beck conducted the
service at Hensall United Church
on Sunday morning taking as his
topic, "That You may Believe,"
The choir, with Mrs. John
Turkheim at the organ, sang the
anthem, "I saw the Cross of
Jesus".
Hensall 1 4-H Club
The first meeting of Hensall I 4-
H Club was held at the home of
Mrs. Hans Gerstenkorn on
Tuesday,March 15. The meeting
opened with the 4-H Pledge and
the Election of Officers.
President, Rebecca Jantzi, Vice-
President, Laurie Pepper;
Treasurer, Lisa Hamather and
Press Reporter, Vicky Mann,
were elected.
Several names for the club
were suggested and "The Sew
and Sews" was finally decided
upon. It was also decided that
since the March break was
coming up the second meeting
would be held in two weeks later
on March 29.
St, Pauls A.C.W.
The regular meeting of St,
Paul's A.C.W. was held at the
Rectory on Thursday afternoon.
President, Mrs. Frank Forrest,
opened with the Invocation and
the Members Prayer was
repeated. Mrs. Annie Reid read
the scripture and Mrs. G. A.
Anderson gave the meditation
from "The Living Message".
This was followed by the Litany
and prayer.
Minutes were approved and
correspondence was read. Part of
the study book, "Faith Conquers
Conquest" was taken by Mrs.
Helen Roberts. A bale will be
packed at the next meeting. After
Mrs. Anderson closed the
meeting with prayer, the Rev.,
Anderson showed slides on a
recent trip to Bermuda.

entertained the Institutes of
Elimyille, Grand Bend,„
Hurondaleana Hensall'e in tie
Legion Hall, Hensall on March 16.
The president Mrs. Al
Hoggarth welcomed the guests
and the Roll Call was answered
by "What I expect to be doing ten
years from now.”
The Kippen members also
displayed beautiful treasures in
China, glass and silver and gave
the history of the pieces on
display.

thanks to their "Secret Pals" for
cards they received. An in-
vitation was received from
Emerald Rebekah Lodge,
Parkhill, to attend the "Brother's
Night" being held April 5, also an
invitation to the Past Grand's
Club of Pride of Huron Lodge,
Exeter, May 12.

home from hospital following an
appendectomy.
Allan Bell has been
hospitalized following an ap-
pendix operation.
Miss Janet Shank daughter of
Mr. &Mrs. Howard Shank had the
misfortune to fall and break her
ankle and is a patient in St.
Joseph's Hospital, London.
Mr. & Mrs. Ross Faber are
holidaying in Florida.
Mr. & Mrs. Howard Shank
visited with Mrs. Shanks parents
in Shelbourne over the weekend,
Miss Sherri Lynn Pine is
visitng with her grandparents

first meeting
The first meeting of the Hensall
24-H Club, the Bed-time Beauties
was held at Hensall United
Church on Tuesday, March 15.
The club was named and the
books given out. Eight members
answered the Roll Call, It was
decided to hold the next meeting
at the United Church on March
27, 1977.

Seaforth, are celebrating their
65th anniversary at Seaforth
Community Centre May 11 with a
dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are

Mrs. Leona Parke. Mrs.
Margaret Consitt Jr, P.N.G. was
appointed Representative and
Mrs. Bertha MacGregor Jr,
P.N.G. was appointed Scholar to
the Rebekah of Assembly of
Ontario Sessions to be held in
Toronto in June.
The District Deputy President
The March meeting of the
Hensall and District Kinettes was
held at the home of Karen
Schuman with President,
Marion Heil in' the chair and all
members present, The Exeter
Kinettes arrived with the
Travelling Boot — a fellowship
promotion among Kinette Clubs
—and joined in the meeting, New
member, Mrs. Sharon Fink, was
installed and welcomed into the
Club,
During the meeting, it was
reported that the bus trip to the
Ice Capades was enjoyed by all
who attended. Plans are now
underway for the Easter Shut-in
Visits and the Spring Rummage
Sale. The Kinettes will be
preparing the meal for the
Kinsman's Elimination Draw on
April 7 and that same night will
be having an informal card party
Five members will be attending
the Kinette Interclub in Wingham
on April 13.
Following the business portion
of the meeting, Karen showed a
slide presentation of her travels
to Rio, Hong Kong and Tokyo and
served a delicious lunch.
Kinsmen
Hensall Kinsmen attended the
Zone B conference of District I
held in Listowel on Sunday,
March 20, This is a large zone
extending from Mount Forest in
the north to Exeter in the south
and comprises twelve clubs. It
was decided to form a new Zone
(K) consisting of Goderich,
Clinton, Hensall, Exeter, St.
Marys and Stratford clubs only.
After some amusing contests, the
Listowel Kinettes served a
delicious meal to the Kinsmen,
Mrs, Mary Fisher of Exeter will
make her official visit to the Lodge
on April 6 at 8 p.m. Mrs. Bertha
MacGregor was appointed
District Deputy President of the
Rebekah Assembly of Ontario for
Huron District No. 23 for the
ensuing year. Bingo Euchre was
played following the meeting and
refreshments served and a social
hour enjoyed.
