Wdmen held the World Day of
Prayer service Thursday evening
with Zion U.C.W. as guests. The
commitee in charge was Mrs.
Elmer Powe and Mrs. Frank
Hicks.
The program was prepared by
the Christian Women of the
German Republic. The theme
being "Love in Action". Mrs.
Powe introduced the guest
speaker Rev. E.D. Stuart.
He was thanked by Mrs. F.
Hicks. The president, Mrs. Alvin
Lobb conducted a short business
darts. The next meeting will be
March 19 at 9:30 a.m,

Senior Citizens met in the
Community Centre Monday for
an afternoon of crokinole and
cards followed by lunch,
Lori and Lynn Cronyn, popular
Free Press carriers in the
village, won a trip to the Ice
Capades in London on Saturday
and were treated to dinner at
MacDonalds before attending the
afternoon performance. To be
eligible for the award they each
had to get three new customers—
congratulations girls.
They went to London by bus
along with other carriers in the
district.

returned home following a three
week vacation in Florida. While
there they had the privelege of
attending the Passion Play
presented in Lake Wales,
Florida

Rev. Charles Scott, the guest
minister for March, told the
children of his work at the
hospital and among the older,
sometimes distrubed people of
the area, in language every child
could understand He continued
his Lenten messages speaking
again from Luke this week on "
The Agonies of Life".
Mr, Scott said that Simon Peter
was a guy, just like you or me not
always faithful all the time. He
said, each one of us have
strengths and weaknesses'. If you
can say "I have failed, I have hit
rockbottom, help me Lord", you
will receive help,
Christ said "if it be your will,
let this cup pass from me". So we
must ask God's will for us and
then be willing to accept the love
and concern from others, who
would like to help.
The best ministry anyone can
give, particularly to those in the
formative years, is the ability to
listen and this is most important
to future mental health. When we
can be a listening post God is
working through us.
Scriptures were read by
Raymond Hall and Lisa Kaune.
Flower in the sanctuary were
from the funerals of Mrs. Ivan
Culbert and Ken Carter, as a
continued remembrance.

studied by 4-H
The Lucan Tip Top Tailors 4-H
Club had their third meeting on
"Consider Your Clothes"
Thursday. The meeting was
opened with the 4-H pledge and
the secretary read the minutes of
the last meeting. The group
talked about patterns and then
pinned and cut the materials.

Manufactured Articles and sold
by Toronto Firms" was won by
Mrs. Wilmer Scott, Mrs. Rea Neil
assisted the hostess with lunch.
4-H Club*No. 3
The "Super Sewers" held their
third meeting at the home of their
leader, Mrs. Ralph Lynn,
Saturday, March 12. Five
members answered the roll call.
The members brought their
material and pattern for their
blouse. Discussion was on
assessing your wardrobe. The
leaders showed the girls how to
lay their pattern on the material
and how to cut it and make the:

sale a success
The Lucan United Church
Couples Club held a successful
Bake Sale on Saturday, March 12,
in Glen Haskett's service station
with proceeds going to their
general funds to assist in
finishing up the Young Peoples'
Room.
The Explorers have started
planning their annual "Bunny
Tea" with a tentative date of
Saturday, April 16.

break of three weeks, while
leaders were holidaying in
warmer climates,

Can Project" for helping to feed
the world hungry is in progess,
but in family groups only, please.
Members are asked to please
desist from going "door to door",
It was suggested that the family
do without dessert occasionally
putting the money saved into the
pop can. The cans are to be
returned on the May 1st,
