Yes, you guessed right. The stormy weather in January and February slow-
ed down the sale of Furniture and Appliances badly, and as a result we at
Turkheim Furniture & Appliances in Zurich are overloaded with a huge in-
ventory. To make matters worse we have a large quantity of new merchan-
dise arriving in early April. So we have no choice — down go the prices —
as much as 50 percent. All brand name merchandise such as Kroehler,
Braemore, Krug Bros., Kaufman, Simmons, Knechtel, Electrohome and Ad-
miral. We doubt if you will ever again see prices slashed as low as ours!

Expanding

The IndustrialTraining Branch
of the Ministry of Colleges and
Universities is expanding ' its
service in the counties of Mid-
dlesex, Elgin, Oxford,Norfolk,
Huron, Perth, Wellington and the
municipality of Waterloo.
Alf Barron, district supervisor,
said the expanded service of-
fered by the Kitchener office is
part of a ministry plan to
decentralize its administrative
structure across the province.
The Industrial Training Branch
is responsible for Ontario's ap-
prenticeship program and short-
term industrial training
programs. It also administers the
adult training programs provided
by provincial colleges and in-
stitutions, It cooperates closely
with the federal government' in
providintraining under the
Canada Manpower Training
Program,
District headquarters is
located at 520 First Street, Unit
19, London, which is also the
location of the southwestern
Ontario regional office, managed
by P.F, (Ted) Lee. Other offices

Church news
At the United Church Rev.
Elwood Morden was in charge of
the service on Sunday and en-
titled his sermon "The Word, of
Love", the third in the Lenten
series on "The Seven Last
Words",
A copy from the Church
bulletin shows how our dollars
have helped with World
Development and Relief; $1.00
spent on a peanut seed project in
Sudan produced 55 lbs, of im-
proved seed;
$7.00 was the cost of deep-
ploughing one acre of yet un-
cultivated land in India; $60
bought one bull in Togo for cross-
breeding to produce animals
large and strong enough to pull
ploughs; $300 plus local donated
labour constructed a well to
supply a village in Ethiopia with
clean drinking water;
$1,000 dug and stocked a pond
with fingerlings and put ducks on
it so Bengali families in
Bangladesh had a higher protein
diet; $1,200 covered the cost for a
year of a Social Worker in a
mobile milk canteen program in
Calcutta feeding 4,000 pre-school
children, This is an example of
helping the underdeveloped
countries to help themselves.
At St. Thomad'Anglican Church
Rev. Mary Mills was in charge of
the morning worship. Her ser-
mon related to the different
happenings during Christ's
Ministry, such as the story of how
Jesus led the Israelites through
the Red Sea, when He predicts
Peter's Denial and when Jesus
called the first four disciples to
follow Him, and said "I will make
you Fishers of Men,
Ask yourself "What is my
Christian Story, that makes me
what I am? Lent is a time for
looking at ourselves said Rev.
Mills. Special prayers were said
for the Refugees in Uganda.
