The World Day of Prayer•
service was held in Carmel
Presbyterian Church on Friday
with the organizations of Hensall
United Church, Chiselhurst
United Church and St. Paul's
Anglican participating in the
program.
The president of Carmel
Presbyterian Church, Mrs.
Harvey Hyde presided.
The program was taken by
Mrs. Nan Britton, Mrs. Carl
Payne and Mrs. Ken Elder from
Hensall United Church; Mrs.
Harold Parker, Mrs. Thos,
Brintnell, Mrs. Jack Brintnell
from Chiselhurst United Church;
Mrs, Annie Reid, Mrs. Frank
Forrest, Mrs, Ted Roberts from
St. Paul's Anglican Church; and
Mrs. Ruby Bell, Mrs. John
Baker, Mrs. Clarence Volland,
Mrs. Rochus Faber, Mrs. Edith
Bell and Mrs. Malcolm Dougall
from Carmel Presbyterian
Church.
Mrs. Gwyn Whilsmith, Exeter,
was the guest speaker and spoke
on the theme, "Love in Action".
Unit 4 U.C.W.
The regular meeting of Unit 4
of Hensall United Church Women
was held on Thursday afternoon
in the Christian Fellowship Hall.
Mrs. James McAllister opened
the meeting by reading a poem,
"Praying Hands", Psalm hymn
709 was read in unison.
Mrs. Eric Luther spoke on the
deity of Jesus and gave several
Bible references. Mrs. McAllister
reported on a recently held
executive meeting of United
Church Women and told Unit 4
what they would be responsible
for the remainder of the year.
Mrs. Laird Mickle played several
Irish numbers which were en-
joyed by all. The meeting closed
with the singing of the hymn,
"Take time to be Holy"
Anglican Church
The service of Holy Com-
munion was administered by
Rev. G.A. Anderson at St. Paul's
Anglican Church on Sunday. The
text of the sermon was "The
Prodigal Son" taken from St.
Luke's Gospel, chapter 15. The
floWers were in memory of the
late Homer Russell, placed there
by his family.

Rev. W.D. Jarvis conducted
service in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday dispensing the
Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Four new members were
received into membership in the
service of Comfirmation: Becky
Baker, Jeff Sangster, John
Mousseau, and Randy Moir. Miss
Brenda Pepper presided at the
piano for the service of song.
Ladies' Aid
Mrs. Clarence Volland chaired
the meeting for the ladies' aid.
Some matters of improvement
were finalized and ordinary
business attended. The meeting
concluded with the Mizaah
Benediction.

James Forrest in his 57th year.
Survived by his wife the former
Margaret Treffry, one son
William Ross Forrest at home,
two daughters, Mrs. David
(Deanna) Brock, R.R. 2, Staffa,
and Nancy Elaine Forrest,
Ottawa, three grandchildren, one
brother W. Edison Forrest, RR 2,
Hensall, Mrs Mrs. James M.
Dorothy and Brian Arthur visited
Mrs. Sara Arthur.
Church service was conducted
by Rev. Van Essen assisted by
Mrs. Van Essen. United Church
Women of Chiselhurst en-
tertained residents with Bingo
and records. A new resident Mr.
Russell Erratt was welcomed.
(Grace) Scott, Seaforth and
Mildred Forrest, Brantford.
Funeral services were held on
Monday, March 5 at the Bonthron
Funeral Home, Hensall at 3 p.m.
with Rev. Don Beck officiating.
Burial will be made in Bayfield
Cemetery. Mr. Forrest was a
member of the United Church,
Hensall. He served ten years on
the Tuckersmith School Board
and• five years on the Tucker-
smith Township Council.

conducted the regular service at
Hensall United Church.
Chiselhurst congregation joined
with Hensall for this occasion.
The subject of the sermon was,;
the casting out by Jesus of the •
evil spirits—we must be ready to
accept change in life. Mrs. Belva
Fuss sang an appropriate solo, "I
asked the Lord". The postponed
Communion Service will be held
next Sunday.
Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Flynn, Lorie
and Susan returned home after a
pleasant visit with Mr. & Mrs.
Don Avery and family at Dair-
field Beach, Florida.
Mr. & Mrs. Doug Shirray have
returned from a trip to Florida.
While there they visited with the
former's mother Mrs. Mabel
Shirray and visited the Florida
Keys and Disneyland.
Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Rader visited
with the latter's aunt and uncle,
Mr. & Mrs. Sam Oesch on Sun-
day.
The Hensall Legion Auxiliary
Ladies met Tuesday evening with
Mrs. Mona Campbell, treasurer,
presiding in the absence of the
president, Mrs. Beatruce Uyl. A
donation was voted to the Crippled
Children.
Members were informed that
the Zone Commander Mrs. Peg
Coombes of Seaforth would be
present at the April meeting. The
sports officer Mrs. Iva Reid
outlined the bowling tour-
naments.
The mystery prize was won by
Mrs. Iva Reid and Mrs. Vera
Smale won the attendance prize.
A social hour was enjoyed and
refreshments served.

Rebekahs attend
Exeter banquet
The' officers and members of
Amber Rebekah Lodge were
guests of Pride of Huron Lodge,
Exeter, Wednesday evening at
Exeter United Church in honour
of the Assembly Warden, Mrs.
Helen Spicer who was making
her official visit.
Following the banquet the
members were entertained at the
Lodge Hall with the Hensall
Lodge participating in the
opening and closing ceremonies.
Public Speaking
The Hensall Legion will be
sponsoring a public speaking
contest to be held at the Hensall
Legion • Rooms at 8 p.m. on
Thursday, March 10. This contest
is open to all public school age
children from Hensall and Zurich
schools. Winners will be ad-
vancing to the Zone contest to be
neld at the Clinton Legion Hall on
Saturday, March 12, 1977.
