Much credit is due to the committee of the U.C.W. headed by Mrs, Stuart Bullock. Following the supper the audience was taken on an illustrated tour of the county of Brazil with Don Waters, Parkhill, as commentator. Situated in South America, a country as large as the Dominion of Canada, with its Amazon River; its jungles' and its rich farming land, its densely populated cities (especially Rio De Janeiro, which was pictured as one of the most beautiful cities of the world); and its rich people and its poor people. Those who heard and visioned went home with a much better knowledge of that country on the other side of the equator. The service in the United Church next Sunday will be conducted by the Rev. Jack Thompson, London, secretary of the District Branch of the Canadian Bible Society. Of concern to this community: Mr. & Mrs. Bill Clarke, London, former owners of 'the General Store here, have been notified of the critical injuries sustained by Mrs. Clark's brother who manages a Holiday Inn in Jacksonville, Florida. He was held up by two negro bandits and received several bullet wounds to his body. Mrs. Clarke and her father have gone to be by his side. Mr. & Mrs. Jan Lagerwerf spent the weekend in Kitchener and Toronto. They attended the convocation ceremonies for new members of the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants, at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Their son-in-law Bruce R. Price Co-op B, Math. C.A. was one of the 1977 Graduates. Return home from Grenada By MRS. HUGH MORENZ SHIPKA Mr. & Mrs. Ferman Snyder accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. Ken McGregor of Parkhill returned Sunday from a two week holiday in the South Sea Island of Grenada. The Snyder s visited with their daughter Esther who is doing mission field work there. The daily temperature averaged about 75 degrees Fahrenheit, The island is 11 miles wide and 22 miles long with a population of 105,000. The main crops are sugar cane many kinds, of citrus fruits, bananas, coconuts and nutmeg trees. IRVIN RADER DASH WOOD The Senior Citizens meeting February 21 opened by singing "0 Canada" with 32 in at- tendance. The president, J. M. Tieman presided for the business. Members were advised that Arc Industries is un- dertaking a "Meals on Wheels" project for anyone interested. The social groups were rearranged and the new group 1 is in charge of the March meeting. Anyone interested in a Fettes bus trip to Holland, Michigan in May should contact Nola Love without delay. Euchre and crokinole were played. Winners were, ladies, Hilda Rader and Florence Keller; men, Charles Martene and Adolph Keller. Group 5 served lunch. 4-H meeting The organization meeting - of Dashwood 2 4-H meeting was h held February 28 with Mrs. Earl Keller and Mrs. Ray Rader, leaders and 15 girls present, Officers elected are, president,' Sherrie Stade; vice-president, Barbara Rader; secretary, Cynthia Willert; press reporter, Teresa VanRaay. Clothes for leisure were discussed as well as style, pat- tern and fabric, The next meeting is to be held March 7. Mr. & Mrs. John Becker and Jeremy have moved to their home in Dashwood purchased from Mrs. Della Tomlinson who now lives in Exeter. Mrs. Ervin Latta, Gary, Diane and Lori-Anne of Waterloo.p Oscar Miller returned home Saturday from St. Joseph's Hospital where he had been a Patient for several days. Personals Mrs, Lloyd Willert has returned home from St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Mr. & Mrs. Harry Hayter at- tended the Cattlemen Association Convention at the Skyline hotel, Toronto last week where Harry was a delegate. Cameron Ernest, infant son of Mr. & Mrs, Terry Sweiger was baptized in Zion Lutheran church Sunday, February 21, by Rev. M. Mellecke. Sponsors were Mr. & Mrs. Peter Becker, Mr. & Mrs. Jim Hoffman are settled in their new home in Dashwood. Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Weber ac- companied by Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Bender spent three weeks at Florida. They stayed one week at Homestead and visited Key West, Ft. Meyer, Ft. Lauderdale, Disney World and many places of interest. Dr. & Mrs. A. C. Whittier, Mississauga, spent the weekend with Mrs. Hilda Wein. Guests with Mr.s & Mrs. Dave Rader and Stacey, Sunday, were Mr. & Mrs. Fred Miller and girls, Zion; Mr. & Mrs. Paul Rader, London and Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader. Adolph Keller is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London; Oscar Miller has returned home from 'St, Joseph's Hospital following a week stay. Mr. & Mrs. Eric Wolfe and family and Mr. & Mrs. John Parker and Scott were weekend visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Stuart Wolfe. On the occasion of Oluf Pedersen's 95th birthday and Mrs. Pedersen's 80th birthday, good wishes were received by phone calls from relatives in Denmark and their daughters Karen and Bill Nolan and Martha and George Penn in California and their son Sgt, and Mrs. Lorie Pedersen, Camp Borden, Mrs. Sigrid Durdin has returned from a 18 day visit with her sisters in California. Bud Durdin is spending some time in Ottawa. Kim Durdin is spending a week at Trenton with friends. There were 16 tables in play at the euchre sponsored by Dash- wood W.I. Tuesday, February 22. Dear Editor: We take this means of thanking those kind people who have kept their sidewalks cleaned for those of us who find walking the only means for exercise.
