The program consisted of: Rhumba, Denise Bedard, Valerie Baker, Karen Shiels, Becky Baker, Vicki Baker; High Hat Gentleman, Jerry Faber, Darren Faber; Pretty Maids, Donna Taylor, Debbie Lawrence, Pamela Gackstetter, Lori Faber, Debra Reidy; Pair, Karen Shiels, Denise Bedard; Mexican Hat Dancers, Jeannette Charette, Darlene Faber, Teresa Charette, Starr Jesney; Pair-Hi'Diddle- Dee-Dee, Becky Baker and Valerie Baker; Solo, Vicki Baker. Dr. John has delivered their babies, attended them at home, stitched up their hockey injuries, Eric Luther has been named chairman for the committee to build a new arena in Hensall, Co- chairman is Dave Schurman. Council and the parks board two weeks ago approved authorization of the construction of a new arena-hall facility for the community. Cost of the new facility has been tentatively estimated at Name arena committee attended with them at church and performed all those services for which one looks to a doctor. Rev, Don Forrest of Exeter conducted church service accompanied by Mrs. Forrest on the piano, Recent visitors with Ernest Perry were Bill, Donna and Donald. Edmund, Jeffrey and Blanche Bechard, Mr, & Mrs. Clemence Jeffrey, Mrs. Frank Baleen, Bill Fiscus and Tracey Landrey visited. Pauline Jeffrey. Betty Smith visited Lynn Latimer and several other ladies. Mr. & Mrs. E, Denroach, Camp Borden visited Louise Mitchell and took,her to visit Mrs. Garnet McFalls at Huronview. Harold and Lauretta Glanville, Judy Smale and Robbie visited Harold Glanville. Misfortune hits again By MRS. RENA CALDWELL KIPPEN Misfortunes never come singly as Mr. & Mrs. Ken McKay discovered when their house was destroyed by fire Friday af- ternoon of last week. A few years ago a tornado levelled their barn and took the kitchen from the main house. Last summer their son Jeffrey was involved in an accident on Number 4 and is still under the doctors care with a serious leg injury. Mr. McKay was taken to Exeter Hospital with severe burns. Ross Forrest is seriously ill in hospital in London, The U.C,W.quilted a quilt at St. Andrew's Church Kippen, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week, Mr, & Mrs. Clayton Cooper, Centralia are visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Orval Cooper. Mr. & Mrs. Grant McLean are holidaying in the West Indies. Kippen East Women's Institute held a euchre party in the Legion Hall, Hensall Thursday with 11 tables in play. Prize winners were Men's High-Joe Carter, Men's Low- Harvey Jacobi, Ladle's High- Mrs. Bill Pepper, Ladie's Low- Mrs. Alice Ferg, Lone Hands- Robt, Parsons. Hospital, London, has been transferred to South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Mr. & Mrs, Brian Collins and Sarah, Kitchener spent Sunday with Mrs. Collins mother Mrs. Laird Mickle. Mr. & Mrs. James Sangster and Brad were recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Holland, Gwen and Michael in Clinton. Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Alphonse Grenier and Joanne of Hensall were Richard and Rose Rader, Tammy and Danny, Goderich; John and Cathy Taylor, Christopher and Jodi, Hensall; Joe Bengough and Mrs. Bengough, Hensall; Cpl, Gordon Baker, Ottawa ; Truman Fischer, Zurich; Larry and Carole Luther and Robert, Grand Bend. They all helped celebrate the first birthday of Robert Luther; also his dad's birthday which was February 25 and an early bir- thday for Truman Fischer which will be in March. The service in Hensall United Church for the first Sunday in Lent was conducted by Rev. Don Beck, taking as his topic the Beatitudes. The teaching of Jesus is threefold; what we should be, how we should give and how we should receive. Assisting at the organ was Mrs. John Turkheim with the sixteen voice choir rendering the anthem, "One Day." Following the service, the congregation assembled downstairs in the fellowship hall for a pot-luck dinner and program, the highlight of which was a film of Hensall and Chiselhurst activities during the News from Huronview Two new residents were welcomed to the Home at Mon- day's activities. Mrs. Hazel Young and Louis Carbert. Eight members of the Goderich Township women's Institute volunteers assisted with ac- tivities and their musicians. Mrs. Driver and Molly Cox joined Norman Speir and Cecil Skinner to provide the old tyme music. Mr. Wayne McClinchey of Auburn arranged a musical program for "Family Night". and along with his father Bob McClinchey, Willis Bromley and daughter Carol entertained with old tyme and western music. Mr. & Mrs. Walter Spencer and Mr. & Mrs. Howard Scane have returned from a pleasant holiday spent at Pompano Beach, Florida. Mrs. Gladys Coleman and Mrs. Bertha MacGregor returned home after a two weeks' tour of Florida. Mr, Ross Forrest is in intensive care in Victoria Hospital, Lon- don. Mr. & Mrs. A. T. Olson, Elizabeth and David of London visited with the children's grandfather,Mr. Wilbert Dilling on Friday. Mr, John Upshall has been admitted to St.Joseph's Hospital, London and we hear that his condition is improving. Carl Payne is a patient . in University Hospital, London. Miss Elaine Townshend will be guest speaker at the next meeting of the Hensall Women's Institute to be held on Wednesday, March 9 at the Legion Hall. past year with background music provided by a taping of the cantata, "No greater Love" which the choir presented last Easter. All women of the community are invited to the World Day of Prayer to be held in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Friday, Organist is honored The annual congregational meeting of Carmel Presbyterian Church commenced with a Pot Luck supper which was well attended by members and families of the congegation. Following the supper Rev. Jarvis was appointed chairman for the meeting and Mrs. Robert Taylor was appointed secretary. The reports of the various organizations of the church were given and approved after which Rev. Jarvis called on Mrs. Malcolm Dougall who has retired as organist of the church after many years of service. He ex- pressed the appreciation of the Congregation for the years of service and Mr, Bert Thompson, Clerk of the Session, presented Mrs. Dougall with a cheque. Mrs. Dougall responded with a sincere "Thank you", Mrs. Esther Wright, Mr, Robt. M. Bell and Mr. Robert Taylor were appointed to the Board of Managers. Goddard as their physician. So, before you go, please accept a big "thank you" from us all. Change and progress go hand in hand. Now Hensall is to have a Medical Clinic on King Street. The house has been bought and it is hoped that renovations will be completed in the latter half of April, Dr. C. Wallace from Zurich and Dr. W. D. O'Connor from Grand Bend with the help of Mrs, A, Visscher, Kippen, a nurse practitioner will be running the clinic, Dr. Wallace will be in attendance on some days and Dr. O'Connor will see patients on other afternoons, The rest of the time Mrs. Visscher will be using her skills to aid those in need.
