Recently, while rooting
through a pile of books, papers
and other artifacts from the halls
of learning, I uncovered the
typewriter which has not churned
out any Mt. Carmel news for an
embarrassing length of time. I
found that scolding the
typewriter was most convenient,
since it could not argue back, but
eventually I realized where the
blame really lie. I offer this
week's news as concrete proof
that Mt. Carmel, so unworthy of
neglect, indeed still has a
correspondent.
On this past weekend, mem-
bers of the large family of Mr. &
Mrs. Don Darling proved that
their power does not merely lie in
numbers but in talent as well.
Sunday, two of Mr. & Mrs.
Darlings daughters,. Leigh-Anne
and Kristyn, participated in an
ice show put on by the Silver
Blades Skating Club at the
Parkhill Arena. The members of
the Club performed to a full house
and the moral support offered by
the spectators must have been
very gratifying for the skaters
who did their share by offering
some fine entertainment to the
audience.
Sunday afternoon, the Darlings
triumphed at the Crippled
Children's Weekend snowmobile
races 'held' at the Pine Ridge
