Smith Funeral home, Harrow,
with interment in Erie Cemetery,
Colchester.

their Aunt and Uncle, Mr. & Mrs,
Hugh Morenz. Persephone
Morenz and her parents visited
Sunday with the Morenz's.

Church Women met at the
Church Thursday afternoon,
During a brief businesg
meeting a petition was circulated
asking a ban on the suggested
Universal Code Systems for
pricing canned goods. Members
requested to write protest letters
about it.
It was announced that the
World Day of Prayer would be
held March 4 in Trivitt Anglican
Church.
Mrs, A. Rundle was in charge
of the programme choosing Love
as the theme. Mrs. W. Kernick
read 1st Corinthians Chapter 13,
and Mrs. E, Jackson spoke of the
greatest example of love being
God's giving his only son for the
world. She told the story of the
origin.of The Praying Hands.
A Valentine poem was read by
Mrs. E. Harvey and two solos
were given by Mrs. D, Bullock,
accompanied by Miss A, Brodie.
Mrs. J. Chapman was guest
speaker on the topic Teenagers:
She pointed out the differences
between a teenager's life when
we were growing up and now.
Then the family worked together
and accepted responsibility now
all go their separate ways.
Parental example is still the
greatest influence on the child's
life.
We stress higher Education but
there is no promise of a job when
education is completed, Alcohol
and drugs are major problems
for teenagers.
Mn. Chapman stressed that
help is airailable in Exeter for
teenagers and adults too. There is
a Counsellor in town every
Thursday at the Public Health
Mrs. Chapman closed with the
prayer of St. Francis.
A social hour brought the
meeting to a close,
Massenhoven celebrated their 12
Wedding Anniversary, Saturday
evening, by attending a Valentine
dance at the Taxandria, with
friends and relatives. The
Massenhovens visited Thursday
with her parents, Mr. & Mrs.
Frank Wouters, Glanworth.
Mrs. Tony Regier and
Christopher of Detroit are
holidaying this week with her
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ken Baker

Dave Finkbeiner who has been
working at Douglas Point, left
February 2, for Deep. River to
take a nine month course at a
school in Rothton.
Mr. & Mrs. Harold Finkbeiner
returned last Tuesday from a 10
day bus. and plane trip, in con-
nection with the Huron County
Beef Association, when they
toured farm areas in Dallas
Texas, Austin, San Antonia,
Corpus Christi and a side trip to
Mexico. They also attended a
play and visited the natural
bridge caverns.

Okay tenders
in Biddulph
At its February meeting
Biddulph council awarded two
road department contracts.
The gravel contract was let to
Walloy Excavating. The tender
calls for the supply and delivery
of gravel at $2.74 per cubic yard.
Pollard Bros. of Leamington
will supply the necessary liquid
calcium at $80.10 per flaked ton.
Council agreed to pay the
township's share of the operating
deficit of the Lucan Community
Centre for the year 1976 in the
amount of $1,853.
Application has been made to
the Ontario Ministry of Tran-
sportation and Communications
for approval of the 1977 road
budget in the amount of $195,000.
Building permits were ap-
proved for Ed Glavin, Lot 12,
Concession 2, a house addition
and Harvey Revington, Lot 12,
N.L.R., an accessory
agricultural building.
