Koopman, Mr. Jardine's
message "Being the Community
of Christian Love" was a
challenge to everyone, as
Christian love is to be found in
each person who has accepted
God as Saviour and Guide.
These persons will relate this
love of Christ to' all those they
meet so that it does not stay
locked within themselves,
Because God loves us we are able
to share this love by caring for
others.
Members were reminded of
their Observer subscriptions new
or renewal to go to Alex Young by
this Sunday.
'Pre-registration for Learning
for Lent has been extended until
tomorrow, Friday. The Macrame
Class is filled unless there are
sufficient for a second class.
There are still openings in all
other groups and we must have
five more for "Women and the
Law".
We are sure you are all looking
forward .with anticiption to
listening and sharing Bible Study
with Gwyn Whilsmith again this
year. Classes commence on
Thursday, March 3, with
registration from 9 9:30 then at
9:30 the following weeks. Child
care in two groups will be
provided for, babies to one year

social committee for March and
April and the lunch conveners
will, hopefully, be appointed for
the same period today (Thur-

Scouts will parade to the Lucan
United Church Sunday, February
20 at 11:15 commemorating the
birthday of Lord and Lady Baden
Powell. All parents and friends
are invited . Members will meet
in the C.E. Rooms at 11:00 and a
member. from each group will be
taking part in the service,
On Wednesday, February 23,
Scouts and their parents will hold
a "pot luck" banquet at 6:30 p.m.
in the Lucan United Church.

first aid, physical fitness and
good citizenship,

the Legion Hall, We would ap-

speeches are prepared and
delivered. The citizens of Lucan

Explorers talk
about life choices
Monday, February 7 the Lucan-
Clandeboye Explorers talked
about the choices we all make in
our lives.
The girls went into groups of
two and read passages from Luke
concerning choices Jesus made
and then shared them. with the
group. We also talked about re-
cycling and each girl is to re
cycle something at home.
This Monday the girls had a
Valentine's meeting with cookies
and games. The girls practised
re-cycling by using wall paper
samples to make Valentines.
Sunday, February 20 all youth
groups in Lucan will • be
honouring Baden-Powell, the
founder of scouting and guiding
in a special Church Service. All
groups are asked to assemble in
the basement of Lucan United
Church at 11 o'clock before
service.
Next meeting of the explorers
is on February 21 and new girls
are always welcome.

Damages totalled $21,725 in 16
accidents investigated this week
by officers of the Lucan detach-
ment of the Ontario Provincial
Police.
Sunday was the busiest day
with five mishaps occurring and
Wednesday was next with four
accidents reported.
Tuesday at 8:05 a.m. Constable
N.A. Campbell set $200 in
damages when vehicles driven by
Norman A. Besse and Arthur
Charles Beer, both of London
collided on Sideroad 16 in London
township, just west of Highway 4,
Vehicles driven by Joan
Nebesnuik, RR 1, Granton and
John Tindale, London, were in
collision. on Highway 23, just
north of ,Highway 7 at 6:30 a.m.
Wednesday. Constable J.A.
Wilson listed damages at $800.
At 2:15 p.m. the same day two
parked cars were damaged on
Main Street in Ailsa Craig when
they were struck by a bulldozer
blade, The machine was being
transported on a truck when the
blade struck one vehicle and
pushed it into the other.
The parked cars were owned by
Annie Mae Windsor, RR 3, Ailsa
Craig and Nora Ross, RR 1, Ailsa
Craig, The truck driver was
James Robinson, RR 3 Ailsa
Craig. Total damage was set at
$1,300 by Constable G. N. Wilcox,
Wednesday evening at 5:05
p.m. vehciles driven by Ruth
Ilene Matheson, St. Marys and
Anne Roobroeck, RR 2, Gadshill
were in collision on County road
27, south of Highway 7 in West
Nissouri township. Constable
B.D. Munro estimated damaes at
$350.
At 11:35 a.m. the same day a
vehicle driven by Muriel Miller,
Seaforth, skidded into a huge
snow bank on Highway 4, south
of Highway 7. Constable Hodgins
listed damages at $1,500.
Two accidents occurred at the
same time at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. A
vehicle driven by James Van-
derlip, London, collided with a
parked vehicle owned by Jack
Pitcher, Bluevale while it was

Two breakins were in-

Tabor and Renee Impanis, both
of RR 3, Thorndale were in
collis ion at 4:45 p.m. Monday on
Concession 5-6 at 20-21 sideroad in
West Nissouri township. Con-
stable Vance listed damages at
$400.

suffered minor injuries at 4.15
Wednesday when the vehicle
he was driving was in collision
with one driven by Wayne R.
Mitchell, also of Ailsa Craig, The
mishap occurred on Highway 7,
east of Ailsa Craig and Constable
D. R. Vance listed damages at
$3,600.

Appleman, RR 1, Lucan rolled
over on sideroad 20-21 in Bid-
dulph township Wednesday at
5.05 p,m. when it encountered a
large snow bank, Constable B. D.
Munro set damages at $600.

damages at $3,500 when vehicles
driven by Mervyn Cannon, RR 2,
Denfield and Sylvia Reinhard
collided on Highway 4 at the
junction of Concession 15-16 in
London township at 7.20 p.m.

At 4.35 p.m. Thursday on
County road 50 near the Mid-
dlesex-Perth line, vehicles driven
by William Westman, RR 3,
Granton and Shirley Droste, St.
Marys collided. Constable D. R,
Vance listed damages at $350,

suffered minor cuts when the
vehicle he was driving was in
collision with a vehicle driven by-

road 47 a mile north of Highway 4
in Biddulph was the scene of the

set damages at $2,500.

a.m. Sunday when vehicles
driven by Ross Clarke, London
and Richard Ball, Mount Brydges
collided on Highway 7, near the
CNR crossing in' McGillivray
township.

Shumka. The Club name was also
selected. Tea and cake were
served at the end of the meeting.

The first and second meetings
of Lucan No. 3 4-H club were held
on February 12 at the home of the
leader Mrs. Gerald Straatman,
assisted by Mrs. Donald O'Neil.
Discussed during the meetings
were lines to create illusions and
the difference that warm and cool
colours bring,
The leaders chose three
members to be models and
draped various coloured material
over them to see what colours
suited these individuals best.
The officers elected were as

Straatman.
Members are requested .to
