Paroy Canada most completely insulated homes.
SUPER STRENGTH 6" WALLS
The Viceroy superhome is framed with 2" x 6" (a 16" O.C. on the
outside walls, instead of the traditional 2" x 4" studding. We can thus
install 6" of batt insulation (R-20) compared with Hydro
requirements of 4" (R-12). The increase in strength of this heavier
construction is tremendous. Engineering studies show the load
bearing capacity of these walls is 315% greater than conventional 2"
x 4" framing.
TRIPLE SEALED
WINDOWS
Every window and sliding door in
every Viceroy home is triple sealed,
with three panes of glass and two air
spaces. Tests by an independent
research laboratory indicate a heat loss
factor 40% less than conventional
thermal pane windows.

STEEL WEBBED
ROOF TRUSSES
Viceroy has engineered a powerful
steel webbed truss that enables us to
provide a cathedral ceiling with 8" of
batt insulation (R-28) and a 6" air
space. This compares with Ontario
Hydro requirements'of 4" (R-12). If you
are building in a heavy snow area then
these steel webbed trusses are for you.
Their load bearing capacity is
unprecedented-Lover 100 pounds per
square pot!

Through a series of important and far reaching
innovations, Viceroy's engineers have created a
home that has been hailed by Ontario Hydro as "an
outstanding achievement in energy conservation."
Besides being Canada's first really energy efficient
homes, these new Viceroy homes have enormous
strength and solidity. This unique concomitance
of unparalleled insulation and superstrength
construction must surely rank these homes as the
finest in Canada. We believe these new Viceroy
construction specifications will become standard
building procedure in Canada in the next ten years.
If you plan to build your own home, don't waste
your money by building to today's conventional
construction standards. which will soon be outdated
The introduction of these new superhomes
coincides with the publication of the new edition of
Viceroy's Suburban Homes Book. Viceroy's
brilliant designer, Fred Haas. has come up with a
new vase of strikingly beautiful contemporary
designs.
