Desjardine brought a message to
the ladies on love.
Mrs. Katie Vincent, vice
president presided for the
meeting. Mrs. Ferman Snyder
gave a talk on mission work in
Grenada where her daughter
Esther is serving at the present
time.
Lunch hostess was Mrs. Lloyd
McGregor.
The flowers Sunday in both St.
John's by the Lake Anglican
Church and the United Church
were placed in memory of the
late Kenneth Patterson,
Rev. H. Moore's sermon topic
Sunday morning was "New every
morning" and choir anthem was
"Father, take my hand."

The inaugural. meeting of the
North Middlesex District
Historical Society was held
January 12 with a splendid crowd
in the new auditorium at the
Public School.
A welcome was tendered by
Frank Wasnidge who filled in for
"His Worship Mayor Bill
Waters" who is on holidays.
The guest speaker was Derek
Newton, London, (a former
resident of Parkhill), treasurer,
Middlesex County.
Dr. Boyes showed movies of
the old days and Don Waters
showed slides and gave com-
mentary. Mrs. Jim Orr told what
a "House Log" was made of and
advised every home owner to
start one.
Several displays were set up in
the auditorium.
The next meeting to be held
February 16.
The sale for Mrs. Georgina
Ross and Mrs. Wm Dunning was
a huge success. Good prices were
realized for each, Mr, Bill Elliott,
auctioneered.

In Shamrock minor league play
this week, teams from Huron
Park dropped a doubleheader to
Belmont in Belmont, Friday.
The pee wee score was 6-1 for
Belmont and the home club took
the bantam contest by a score of
8-1.
The lone Huron Park pee wee
goal came from the stick of John
Insley on a pass from Steve
O'Neil.
A three-way combination

Brian Horrell with a' three goal

goals were Mark Hookey, Bob
Osgood and Doug Osgood.
Scoring in single fashion were
Gary Parsons, Bob McDonald;
Walt Tiedeman and Paul Ker-
slake.
The Pfaff Electric win was
paced by Murray Glanville's hat
trick. Bill Consitt was next with
two scores and single goals were
added by Dennis Bierling and
Kevin Buchanan,
Ralph Batten with two goals
was best for MacLean-Passmore
and the odd counter came from
Larry Skinner.
Ed Grenier scored three times
for Les Pines, Larry Bourne
added two goals and Pete Glover
and Rick Moody fired singles.
Guess Who goals came from the
sticks of Bob Osgood, Jim Webb
and Doug Osgood.

The Exeter bantams enjoyed a
very successful week with three
victories, two in regular
Shamrock league play and one in
exhibition.
Friday they blanked Grand
Bend 4-0, Saturday it was an 8-1
romp over Huron Park and
Sunday a 6-3 victory over St.
Marys.
Against Grand Bend four
different players shared in the
scoring. In the first period Doug
Brooks scored from David L, Bell
and Wayne Parsons.
The second frame goal was
fired by David L, Bell on an
unassisted effort, In the third
period Rick Lindenfield and
Mark Parsons scored for Exeter,
Jeff Fuller assisted on both.
Against Huron Park, Saturday,
seven players hit the scoreboard.
Wayne Parsons was the only
double scorer,

The South Huron District High
School wrestling team continues
in first place in the Huron-Perth
Conference in dual meets.
The latest H-P victory came
Thursday against Listowel by a
score of 54-30. The local
youngsters also fared well
Saturday placing third in a
tournament at Huron Park high
school in Woodstock.
Winning matches for South
Huron in the win over Listowel
were Vince Winters, Richard
Rooseboom, Cliff Hicks, Kevin
Hern, Brian Pym, Murton Brock,
Brian Mayer, Bill Duttman, Ken
Govers and Rick Bilcke.
Cliff Hicks was named the best
wrestler of the day, Ken Govers
was the most improved and
Kevin Hern accomplished the
fastest pin in 15 seconds.
In Woodstock Saturday,
Murton Brock won the cham-
pionship at 136 pounds and was
the best wrestler of the day.
Placing second were Vince
Winters and Ron Miller. The
latter was also the most im-
proved performer. Finishing
third wee Ken Govers and Ray
Gallagher. Govers won one of his
matches in 24 seconds for the
fastest pin of the day.
Fourth place finishers were
Brian Pym, Phil De Haan and
Jamie Eveleigh.
Scoring in single fashion were
Steve Pearce, Kevin Parsons,
Dave Jackson, Rick Lindenfield,
Wayne Smith and Doug Brooks,
The top Exeter playmaker was
David M. Bell with four assists.
Others getting assists were Steve
Pearce, Doug Brooks, Kevin
Easterbrook, Dave Jackson, Jeff
Fuller and Rick Lindenfield.

The Exeter goal scoring was
well spread with seven different
players getting into the act.
Scott Brintnell was the only
double scorer for Exeter. On both
successful shots by Brintnell the
assist was provided by John
Kernick.
Bill Glover and Mark Van-
dergunst each scored one goal
and helped each other with the
assist.
Tome Coates hit the mark on a
three-way combination with
Steve Riddell and Scott Batten
and picked up an assist on a goal
from the stick of Mike Clark.
Defenceman Dave Shaw scored
on an unassisted effort and Scott
Batten converted a pass from
captain Steve Riddell.

All of the Exeter scoring in the
6-3 win over St. Marys came in
the first half of the game.
Jeff Fuller was the top Exeter
