The losing streak of the Lucan-
Ilderton Jets in the Ontario
Hockey Association Continental
Senior hockey league has
reached four games.
Friday night on home ice at the
Ilderton arena, the Jets were
downed 5-2 by the Stratford
Per ths.
The Jets hold on second place
in the league standings is being
threatened. They have a total of
33 points, only one more than the
Preston Jesters and Stratford
Perths who are deadlocked for
third place. The London Kings
are in first place with 43 points.
This week the Jets are on the
road for three consecutive
games. Friday night they travel
to Woodstock, Sunday afternoon
they will be in Stratford for a 2
p.m. contest and Wednesday
night they visit Port Stanley.
Despite the losing streak, Jets
manager Don Urbshott is con-
fident his club is on the way back
to winning.
Urbshott commented, "We
played well Friday night and only
hot goal tending by Dennis
Thorpe beat us. We were robbed
a couple of times in the first
period. I feel we are coming on
strong again."
About the league standings
Urbshott said, "It's getting
awfully close up there with only
one point separating three
teams."
Despite the three goal edge by
Stratford, territorial play was
fairly close with each team
having 45 shots on the opposing
net.John Robertson was in goal
for the Jets,
The Jets were able to stay on
even terms with StrAtford for
most of the first two periods.
Each team scored one goal in the
first 20 minutes of play.
Randy Stubel of the Perths
opened the scoring at 1.14 and
five minutes later the Jets were
back on even terms. Ed
Parkinson beat Thorpe with a
hard slap shot which bounced off
the goal post into the net. Assists
went to Randy Roth and Jack
Chine hase,
John St. Cyr with his first of
two goals put Stratford back in
front at 7.59 of the middle stanza.
At 16.58, Rick Martin blasted a

The Exeter scoring in the win
over Listowel was well spread

and second periods and three in
the final.

first period Exeter scoring with
two successful shots. Assisting
were Brent Dawson, Darren
Vandergimst and Mike
