The Straughan vehicle was parked on Andrew Street north of James Street, Constable George Robertson set damages at $75. IF watch IF at corners The Exeter police department asks motorists to pay special attention to all intersections within the town limits. Chief Ted Day continues, "Due to the high snow banks, it is impossible to see any vehicles approaching intersections, from either direction, Watch for corners which are not controlled by stop signs. Stop and make sure the way is clear before proceeding." "In addition, even if the in- tersection is governed by a stop sign, ease out and make sure the way is clear, Also give yourself lots of time to stop, make a slow moving stop, do not brake abr to avoid skidding on the ice or snow," concluded Day. Snow vehicle operators are being asked by the Exeter police department to make sure the vehicle is insured and licenced properly and that it is driven according to regulations of the Highway Traffic Act. The Exeter force will be ren- ting several snow vehicles and will be on patrol. The town of Exeter bylaw states that snow vehicles must not be operated within a block of South Huron Hospital and after I midnight if out of town snowmobiles must proceed directly home and must not be drivin along Main Street. Operators of snow vehicles are also asked to pay special at- tention to intersections due to the size of the machines which are difficult to be seen by anyone in a car. To explore recreation The initial meeting of members tentatively named to the South Huron Recreation Centre board was held last night. The group includes four representatives from Exeter and one each from Usborne, Stephen and Hay. Meeting with them are the five-member Exeter council committee named last week to work with the new board. Mayor Bruce Shaw advised the T-A after Monday's council meeting that the initial session would not be open to the press. He said members tentatively named to the board had not been ap- proved by council as yet and the first meeting would be an ex- ploratory session only. The meeting was planned in an effort for the prospective members to formulate some terms of reference for the Rec Centre operation as well as the administration of recreation.
