Rev. & Mrs. Bruce Pierce and family, Mary Ellen Schlenker and Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Cudmore attended the Jesus 76 Rally at Brantford last week. Mr. Sylvester Wuerth, Lefroy, returned for Sunday's Memorial Service at the Crediton Cemetery. With him were Mr. & Mrs. Robert Blackwell, Caledonia; Tracey Baxter and Mrs. Arthur Enright. Arthur and Patricia of Lefroy. Miss Laura Mathers has returned to her home following successful convalescence at the Ailsa Craig Nursing Home. Mr. Roy Finkbeiner and Mrs. William Davies have been discharged froth South Huron Hospital. Janet Gielen, in her role as dairy princess, spoke to the Women's Institute at Fordwich Tuesday evening. Members of the Women's Institute catered for the graduation banquet at Stephen Central School Monday evening. Sunday morning the Crediton Cemetery Service was combined with the regular morning service at Zion United Church. Mr. William Schwartz read the Scripture. Rev. Bruce Pierce brought a message from the Thessalonians on the comfort of the Christian hope. A quartet, Ray Morlock, Claire Schwartz, Eric Finkbeiner and Gordon Finkbeiner, sang, with Mrs. Gordon Finkbeiner ac- companying them. Flowers in the church were placed by families in memory of loved ones. There were also flowers from the funeral of Susan Lynne Scholes whose mother was brought up near Crediton. The service was arranged by the Cemetery Trustees Gordon Morlock, Cliff Kenney, Russell Finkbeiner, William Schwartz, Gordon Finkbeiner, Milton Sweitzer and Miss Nola Faist, secretary-treasurer. Michael Pierce left Tuesday for summer employment on a Manitoba farm. Parkhill man marks event By MRS. HARRY SHEPPARD PARKHILL About 25 relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Newt Hayter to celebrate his 70th blirthday Sunday. Mr. & -Mrs. Howard Monkhouce, Forest, visited with Mr. & Mrs. Harry Sheppard Sunday. The senior citizens held their euchre party at Chateau Gardens Monday. Mr. & Mrs. Michael Fraser and Adam spent the weekend with their grandmother, Mrs. Alma Fraser. Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Sye, Toronto, visited with Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Langford recently; also visiting with her parents was Mrs. Daphanie Giglio and daughter of Pontiac, Michigan.
