Establish
reserve fund
Exeter council has established
a reserve fund of $28,000 for
capital expenditures.
The money to open the fund is
from last year's budget surplus.
While it is expected the money
may go to the arena campaign, it
will not be designated for this
project. Clerk Eric Carscadden
explained that the designation
will be left as open as possible,
because once it is designed for a
special project of any type, it can
not be spent on anything else.

the "incredible" sum in office
expenses in comparison to the
money being spent on programs.
"Surely you can cut out some of
the $8,000 for paper supplies," he

fact RAP had been working
under the incorrect set of figures.
At the conclusion of the
discussion, deputy-reeve Tom
MacMillah commended pool

Noise control?
Exeter council's bylaw com-
mittee chairman Barb Bell will
be asked to read through a
ministry of environment model
noise control bylaw and advise
council if some form of
legislation to that effect should
be passed in Exeter.
Councillor Ted Wright said he
had read parts of the bylaw and
found some sections not feasible
for Exeter.
The document was several
pages in length.
Install sewers
Exeter council this week
decided to have a small portion of
sanitary sewers on Eastern Ave.
installed by the contractor who is
doing the work on the street for
subdivider Gib Dow.
Dow's contractor gave the town
a price of $9.25 per foot for the
main trunk line required by the
town, while earlier estimates had
placed the price at $19.00 per foot.
The work will be undertaken
under the supervision of works
superintendent Glenn Kells.

Ltd. commenced drilling on the
Morgan well in Usborne township
for the Exeter PUG this week,
Test pumping on the well is
expected to commence next
week.
The PUC decided to open the
