Fiddler's contest June 18 and 19
at the Hensall Community Park
and arena.
Also coming up in Hensall, is
the Hensall Twilight Spring Fair
and Stock show which opens June

Last year, over 70 competitors
turned up for the Fiddler's
contests, and Bob Heil, village
clerk and a member of the
Kinsmen, expects more this year.
Heil said the competition will
start Friday night, with the
elimination rounds, so to speak,
with all the competitors playing.
Then Saturday, the real
competition begins with the
"playdowns" as Heil called
them. This will continue Satur-
day through to the end, when a
champion will he decided.
Along with the fiddling, there
will be step-dancing.
The fiddlers will he divided up
into categories, mostly decided
by age. There is however, the
novelty category, where fiddler's
rely as much on their
imagination as their talent. One
fiddler plays while standing on
his head, while another is known
to play with the fiddle upside
down.
Camping for the crowd of about
3,000 that is expected is being
provided. Heil said there were 200
campsites that could be reserved.
By Tuesday afternoon, 89 had
been reserved.
The Kinettes will also be
showing a movie in the corn-
munity center on Saturday af-
ternoon.

for Friday night and $3 for
Saturday. Reserved seats are
available for $3,50.

Calf Club's show.
