Church held a General Meeting.
Monday evening. Guest speaker
was Mrs. Bruce Eaton. of Staffa,
who told some of her experiences
as a missionary in Bangladesh.
She told of a project at the Y
where women were taught to sew
and make articles for export, It
started with 15 women who
needed help most and grew to
include 45 women. These women
were helped to earn a bit of
money, but their frustrations
became less when they got the
feeling that someone cared for
them.
There are wealthy people in
Bangladesh but many poor.
There are many poor due to the
large population and the fact that
there are no manufacturing
plants, They have 'the richest
land in the world but lack wells
for irrigation.
Time is against progress. We
have to give the best we can while
we are able, We are all one
•family and must follow Jesus'
example of helping all.
