area went on the charter bus trip
Tuesday to Niagara Falls and
Marineland which was sponsored
by the Grand Bend Women's
Institute, Points of interest were
a stop at Stoney Creek, a tour of
the Niagara area, the Niagara
greenhouse and Brock's
Monument.
Mr. & Mrs, Colin Love attended
the wedding of their grandson,
Daniel Love, son of Mr. & Mrs.
Glenn Love, Sarnia, to Katharine
Thompson, daughter of Mr. &
Mrs. George Thompson,
Saturday at Highpark United
40Church, Sarnia, with reception at
Moose Lodge. Rev. Pickell was
minister officiating. Others at-
tending from this area were Mr.
& Mrs. Gerry Love and Mr. &
Mrs. Jim Love.
Mr. & Mrs. George
Buckingham of Toronto spent the
weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Roy
Flear.
Mr. & Mrs. Terry Bevan and

Mr. & Mrs. Edward Odbert
have returned to Grand Bend
after spending the winter in
Tucson, Arizona.

Following the morning service
at the United Church, a
congregational meeting was
called by the trustees of the
church, cemetery board, for a
decision on the three proposals
pertaining to the cemetery, with
the bequest of $4000 from the
estate of the late Peter Eisen-
bach. The number one proposal
build a mausoleum and Chapel
vas carried.

Colin Love were Mr. & Mrs.
Morley Love and Jennifer of
Chatham, Mr. & Mrs. Brian Love
of Ottawa and the latter's mother

the Lambton County 'Historical
meeting at Petrolia, Thursday
evening.
Mr. & Mrs. Glen Desjardine
and Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Desjar-
dine spent the weekend in Guelph
with Mr. & Mrs. 011ie Desjardine.
Wendy Camm of Oakville was a
visitor to the Grand Bend area
over the weekend. Miss Camm
was escorted on her tour of
Flear's Bakeshop by Etiene

Mr. & Mrs. Roy Morenz,
Glenda and Tammy, visited
Monday in Kitchener with Mrs.
Morenz father William Cook who
is a patient in St. Mary's
Hospital.
Wendy Van Bruaene, bride
elect of June 26 has been honored
at two miscellaneous showers.
Mrs. Jerry Van Bruaene was
hostess, Tuesday at the Legion
ball, when about 50 friends and
neighbours gathered.
Julie Luther, with co-hostess,
Kathy Fuller, held a shower
Wednesday evening for about 25
friends at Mrs. Lorne Luther's
home,
Mrs. Max Turnbull returned

Mr. Bill Cochrane, Huron
Country Playhouse Board
Chairman, announced that the
Playhouse has received a $20,000
operating grant from the Ontario
Arts Council. The grant :is to
assist the Playhouse in the
production of its 10 week Festival
of Summer Theatre which con•
sists of four plays and four
musical comedies. The
Playhouse season is presented at
the Playhouse in Grand Bend and
taken also to Meaford and Owen
Sound
Hospital and is spending some
time with her daughter and son-
in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Lam-
port of Crediton.
Soloist for the Sunday morning
service at Grand Bend United
Church was Mrs. Ralph
McKinnon when she sang the
"Lord's Prayer" by Malotte.
Rev, Harley Moore's sermon
topic was "God's will and
unanswered prayer."
Dave Bowyer, a summer
student, and his wife will be
living at Ipperwash and assisting
Rev. A, W. Bell for the summer at
the parishes of Greenway,
Thedford, Port Franks and
Grand Bend.
Heather Marie and John
Warren, children of Mr, & Mrs.
Donald Glen of Ottawa, were
baptized by Rev. H. Moore last
week at Grand Bend United
Church,
Mrs. Lawrence Johnson has
been visiting with her daughter
and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Don
McArthur and Kevin of Port
Elgin.
Mr. & Mrs. Wellwood Gill and
Mr. & Mrs. Alec Hamilton at-
tended the Sunday evening an-
niversary service at Zion United
Church in Crediton which
featured The Watchmen quartet
from Burlington.
The Playhouse first received
Ontario Arts Council 'support in
1974 during its third year of
operation. It has received Arts
Council assistance also with its
annual school tours which
enabled the Playhouse to take
live theatre to students
throughoilt the Region.

last season will be dropped for
the current year. Last season,
high school students were bussed
