Winchelsea woman celebrates birthday By DENISE FLETCHER Fifty relatives and friends of Mrs. Harry Ford gathered at the Kirkton Community Centre for dinner Sunday; the occasion being Mrs. Fords 86th birthday. Mrs. Ford is residing in Kit- chener with her son Mr. and Mrs, Clarence Ford. The store, which will be at the former location of the Serendipity Gift Shop, will be open year round. Mr. Harwood will take up residence in Oakwood, where he has maintained a summer home. Two-year-old girl wins Heritage Foundation raffle tinues. Gyproc is presently being applied to the stairway and en- trance. Work will commence on the belfry as soon as the material arrives. The Foundation is planning for another garage sale during the summer and tickets are already being sold for the Guy Lombardo dance in September. Melissa Smith, two year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs, Graham Smith of Ottawa and grand- daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Russ Snell of Exeter, was the lucky winner of the hand made quilt raffled off by the Exeter and District Heritage Foundation. The draw was made at the Joe Overholt dance sponsored by the Foundation, Friday night at the recreation hall in Huron Park. Approximately, 400 people attended the dance and the profit of about $500 will be added to the funds being raised to restore the town hall. The quilt raffle brought in $216 for the fund. THE OUTDOOR POOL IN Exeter opened Saturday and some of the would-be swimmers were in line for over an hour. Eight swimmers were photographed at 1:15 Saturday, but the pool didn't open for business until 2:00. Above, in the first row, are Lynn Stephens, Debbie Jarvis and Lori Stephens.
