Your kindness will always be remembered. — Herman & Amos Herdman 20p The 4th Annual Ontario Holstein Spring Show was held May 8, 1976 at the Stratford Fairgrounds in Stratford, Ontario where a capacity crowd wit- nessed 225 head paraded by 108 exhibitors before judge, Allison. Fawcett, Winchester, Ontario. The success and the importance of this show was indicated by the great increase in the number of animals shown and the number of enthusiastic exhibitors. The spectacle in terms of quality animals left little to be desired and is a solid indication that the Spring Show is equal to the best in North America, Winchester Marquis Topsy (Very Good) was named Grand Champion Cow after having won the Dry Aged Cow class, A daughter of Petmar Marquis Barnum (Good Plus), Topsy is owned by Rowntree Farms Ltd. of RR 2, Brampton, Ontario. This upstanding individual in 1975 was the first Mature cow and Grand Champion at Calgary Exhibition, second Mature cow and Reserve Grand Champion at the Peter- borough Black & White Show, second Mature cow at the Royal Winter Fair, third Mature cow at Erin Championship Show and the United States Central National Show. She was nominated for All- Canadian Mature Cow in 1975. As a 3-year-old, she yielded in 305 days, 1 1,7 09 lbs. milk, 488 lbs. fat with a 4,17 percent test or BCA indices of 118 percent for milk and 134 percent for fat. The first prize 3-year-old heifer in milk and subsequently Reserve Grand Champion Female was A Lady Maple Fancy, owned by Oak Ridges Farms Limited, Oak Ridges, Ontario.
