Brian Taylor and Fred
Mommersteeg Jr, went home
with an arm load of silverware
from the year end banquet for the
Exeter Hawks April 30 in the
Zurich Community Centre.
The banquet was chaired by
vice-president of minor hockey,
Ron Bogart. Bogart, a
well known supporter of the
construction of a new arena in
Exeter, had some pointed
remarks about the Hawks being
"sort of without a home", next
year. He • remained confident
though, saying "by 1977 we'll be
back home in Exeter in a new
arena . . if we can convince the
people holding it up,"
Bogart requested players who
would be leaving the Hawks for
another team to ask for per-
mission from the league and the
league they are going to should
request permission from the
Hawks as well.
Bogart, who was filling in for
president Ron Horn, who was
unable to come to the banquet
because of previous com-
mitments, also announced that
coach Glen "Rocky" Weise would
be returning as coach for the
1976-77 season.
Weise took over the reins of the
Hawks in mid-January 1975 from

The Exeter Centennial. Soccer
League will be fielding six teams
this year, two more than last year
when the Huron Minor Soccer
League starts play, tentatively at
the end of May.
For the 1976 season, there will
I:le two squirt teams, one more
than last year, and an atom,
mosquito, pee wee and for the
first' time a bantam team. In all,
88 boys will be playing Exeter
soccer this year.
The club is still searching for a
second squirt coach to handle the
reins of the new team, with all
other coaching capacities filled.
No practice times have been
set for the teams yet, with the
club referring to allow coaches
to set their own times after an
organizational meeting is held.
Although registration was slow
this year, taking three days to
complete, club president Damien
Solomon was "fairly happy about
it" anticipating "a fairly suc-
cessful season."
