Carmel Although most of us in the area are throwing violent curses in the general direction of the snow and rain which signalled the begin- ning of May, Mr, and Mrs. Don Darling, who have just returned from an extensive Caribbean cruise, are perhaps the most distraught over our miserable weather. The couple left on Friday, April 23, for Detroit, and on Sunday, April 25, they took a plane south- ward, eager to embark on the cruise, The ship (hey were on called at six major ports, the first of which was Curacao off the South American coast. From there the Darlings toured Venezuela, including Caraccas, then it was off to Martinique, St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, and St, Juan, Puerto Rico. They were most impressed by the beauty and cleanliness of the Virgin islands, which was a startling contrast to many of the poverty-stricken areas they visited.
