A reminder in the form of an announcementwas given out, about the Regional Rally of the UCW at Siloam Church Education Centre on April 28th at 6:45'p,m. program, the theme of the Day of prayer service was "Edueation for all of Life". A skit contained in the service was portrayed by Mrs. Chas. MeRobert unit president, Mrs, Wilbert Marlton, Rev. Mary Melnally, Mrs. Douglas Brown and Allison crown. The collection was given to the World Day of Prayer Fund. 21 members of Court Valentine COF enjoyed their "Night Out" with a smorgasbord dinner at the 1B2athyarian Inn in London April Mrs. Larry (tern presided over a short dinner meeting, followed by entertainment which was handled by Mrs. Gordon Dann and Mrs. Emerson Wallis, Contest winners were, Mrs. Kenneth Hodgins, Mrs. Laverne Morley and. Mrs. Chas. Lemon. Medway euchre club Mr. Sr Mrs. Carmen Hodgins entertained the Medway Euchre club at their home in Byron April 12th. There is more than spring in the air in Granton these days, everyone is talking about the Big Ride for Cancer on April 25, Sponsors are being sought, pledge cards are in great demand and many villagers are on wheels, getting in shape, so let's hope it's a great day for a great cause. UCW General Meeting In the absence of President Mrs. Robert Hardie who is recovering at home after being in hospital, Mrs, Fred Cook presided at the UCW meeting,The meeting opened with an Easter devotional, followed by the World Day of Prayer service, which was cancelled because of the ice storm, Unit 5 was in charge of the Teen dance A teen dance was held in the Forester's Hall April 15. Chaperones were Mrs. Win, Pennington and Mrs. Joyce Weston of Thorndale. Spot dances were won by Peter VanLieshout, Mamie Rooney, Diane Evans, Dawn Lyn Thompson & Mike Glen. 4-H news A meeting of The Tangled Threads was held at the home of Diane Garrett Saturday morning. The roll call was answered by naming a place to use the French Knot. There was some discussion on whether to have a 4-H float in the Granton Fun Day Parade. Brenda Tomlin reported on the skit which she and Ferne Mardlin and Barbara Hudson had planned to do for Achievement Day, and Personals Mr. & Mrs. Wm, Lambert have returned home from a vacation in Spain. Mrs. Norman McNaughton and her daughter Mrs, Douglas Stewart and granddaughters Jeanette and Melissa attended church with Miss Mabel McNaughton, and after the service took her to Stratford with them for a visit. Mr. & Mrs, Kenneth Hodgins and family were Sunday visitors of Mrs. Wm. Rodd of Exeter. Mr, & Mrs, Emerson Wallis, Kevin, Brenda Wallis and Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Jarman of Strathroy were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Sandra Wilson and Mr. Wayne Wallis of Sarnia, Mr. & Mrs. Ron Wilson of London were Easter Sunday supper guests of Mr, & Mrs. Austin Hobbs. Mr. & Mrs. Allan MacKenzie and John of Scarborough were weekend visitors of Mr, & Mrs, Elmer Summers, Wishes for a speedy recovery are extended to Mr. Harold Wallis who is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
