Jeff Knight and Mike Baekwell
of the New Horizon grants met
with a group of Dashwood Senior
Citizens to discuss the formatien
of a senior citizens group and
available grants for projects.
It was decided to hold the next
meeting April 26 at 8:30 p.m, in
the community centre. All senior
citizens are urged to attend.

Surprise Party
A surprise birthday party was
held Saturday evening at the
home of Mr. & Mrs. .Delmar
Miller to honor four ,people with
April birthdays namely, Delmar,
Anthony Marlene, Lome Becker
and Sherrie Stade.
Euchre was played with
winners being ladies' high,
Shirley Martene; low. Isabel
Becker; men's high, Delmar
Miller, low, Wilmer Pfaff; lone
hands, Jack Hogan. Lunch was
served.

Calvary United Church Women
met Tuesday, April 13th with the,
Stewardship and Recruiting
committee in charge and Mrs.
Jessie Rader, chair lady
Responsive reading, "Despised
and Rejected by Men" was read
followed by prayer by Mrs. Jack
Gaiser, Mrs. Gordon Bender read
"White Lilies,"
A film "Crucifixion and the
Resurrection" was shown, Mrs.
Syd Neeb read a poem "Follow
Me."

Dashwood 4-H girls club no, 3
"Nimble Thimbles " held their
meeting with Maxine Miller
leader teaching the girls colour
harmony. Two groups were
formed and the leaders showed
the girls how to enlarge a design,
They also learned how to make
the Twisted Chain Stitch which
they put on their sampler.

Citizens Club, met April 13 for an
evening of euchre. Eight tables
were in play. Winners were:
ladies high, Mrs. Elizabeth Riley,
men's high, Mr. Percy Campbell,
ladies low, Mrs. Inez McEwen,
men's low, Mr. Carl Payne, lone
hands, Mrs. Ruby Bell. Lunch
was enjoyed after the end of play.
Maundy Thursday Communion
Service was held at Hensall
United Church with Rev, Don
Beck in charge, and with Mrs.
John Turkheim at the organ. The
meditation subject was "He took
a towel". This act of Jesus
signified the act complete
committal to the will of God in ail
that was to come. The Com-
munion Service followed the
message.
The Sunrise Service at the
Hensall United Church led by the
Youth Group who conducted a
very inspiring message to begin
the day. Leader for the service
was Paul Wareing, a solo; Lord of
the Dance" was sung by Gail
Travers and Joan Alexander
gave an uplifting meditation on
love, Inc beginning and end of our
witness for Christ and the
foundation of His message on
earth. John Blackwell assisted at
the organ.
Following the service, over 100
people gathered in the Fellowship
Hall for bacon and egg breakfast,
served by the Youth group and
helpers.
Easter Sunday Service at
Hensall United Church was
conducted by Rev, Don Beck. He
gave the final sermon of his
series, "What is a virtue? Faith",
Faith in the Resurrection is the
foundation for hope and love that
is the witness of a Christian,
Easter is a glorious, exciting
time, Mrs, John Turkheim and
the choir sang the anthem,
"I lallelujah! King of Kings". The
Junior choir sang "Allelu" with
soloist Scott Jesney and Brenda
Pepper at the piano. Next
Sunday will he Agriculture
Sunday. A bowling party for Unit
2 is being arranged for Saturday
evening --- meet at the church at
7:30 p.m. Shoes may be hired.

HOT BUSINESS — Chuck Doxtator, foreground, and Bob Heil were
involved in the hot business of unwrapping the beef at the Hensall
Kinsmen Stag Thursday night in Hensall. The beef was served on buns
and was all part of the festivities and the ticket price for the men who
