CARDS OF THANKS —
lags 1976
Thanks to all who helped celebrate
my Eightieth Birthday at Lucan on
April 10.
My Beloved Children:
No matter who a man is, no matter
how far he has travelled, rio matter
what igpala. hee, has. attained, he is
known, when it comes to his late
years, the two most important things
to him, are the love of his children
and descendants; and the respect and
appreciation of his neighbours and
friends,
I thank you, my children, for
honoring me with this great celebra-
tion, and gathering of my many
friends,
You have demonstrated again, to
me and to all, why I say that I am
"forever proud" of you my fine, up-
right, honest, honorable, intelligent
and industrious family. "You are my
jewels"
I thank you all most sincerely. I am
very pleased and proud of my
grandchildren. These fine families
that you have raised and advised and
guided into the fine citizens that they
are; the wisest of whom are already
realizing that my children, their
parents, have a character and quality
that is admired by many. You my
Grandchildren will do well to follow
the pattern your parents have es-
tablished. Remember - "You are my
Riches"!
My sincere thanks to those who
telephoned personal messages; to all
who sent such beautiful cards, ex-
pressing their feelings in the finest
languages; and to all who wrote such
delightful and complimentary
letters, that I shall cherish always.
It has been said that a man is judg-
ed by the companions that he keeps.
If this is so then I am indeed honored.
You be the judge!
Did you ever see a gathering of
people of higher "quality and
worth"?
Every person, without exception,
was one whose morals, ideals and
judgements, have been known and
appreciated, for long years,
throughout the whole community,
Whose heart would not thrill to be
an associate of people of such fine
calibre and to be privileged to call
them friends?
It is fine to say "Good morning"
It is grand to say "Hello"
But it's better still - to clasp the hand
Of an honest friend you know.
A smile may be forgotten
A word misunderstood,
But the warm firm clasp of an honest
hand
Is the pledge of Brotherhood.
My children, my grandchildren,
my relatives and wonderful friends,
may I convince you and assure you,
that each of you has rubbed and
polished and made shining bright,
this "Milestone" in my life, my
Eightieth Birthday.
Accept my sincere thanks to all of
you from a pleased and grateful
heart.
Lovingly Arnold A. Hod gins, 16c

IN MEM.ORIAiA '
SAFELY HOME
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
All's so happy, all so bright!
There's perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief are over
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last,
Did vou wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the Hade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade,
And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread,
And with Jesus' arm to lean on
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's will.
There is work still waiting for you
So you must not be idle stand:
Do your work while life remaineth
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you home,
Oh, the rapture of the meeting!
Oh! the joy to see you come.
Fondly remembered by his wife,
Irene (Hodgson) Cook and sons,
Fred, Cliff, and Bill and daughters
Rota Hughes, Edith Hardie, Shirley
Bityea and Lillus Riddell,
grandchildren and great
grandchildren. 16p
HEPBURN — In loving memory of a
dear son and brother, Jack Elmer
Hepburn who passed away, 2 years
ago, April 20, 1974.
Calm and peaceful he is sleeping,
Sweetest rest that follows pain;
We who loved him sadly miss him
But trust in God to meet again.
Lovingly remembered by father,
George, sister Jean and brother-in-
law, Bill, 16p
MacDONALD — In loving memory
of my son, Don who passed away, 12

Memory brings you back once more
To the time when you were with me
To the happy days of yore.
Sadly missed by his mother, 16p
PFAFF — In loving memory of a
dear mother andgrandmother, Alice
Pfaff who passed away two years,
ago, April 15, 1974.
