Children, teenagers, young

Spring colors from pastels to
bright flowerly colors.
The afternoon Units of Exeter
United Chufch Women held their
Easter meeting, April 8, when
plans were made for a
smorgasbord dinner to be held,
May 6.
Mrs. E. Russell was in charge
of the program "Easter a
reminder of Faith, Hope and
Love" and Mrs. W. Brock read a
poem, "Decorations" showing
how we can make our mental
house bright as well as our
homes.
The worship service was led by
Mrs. Russell with responses read
by all. Mrs. C. Snell read a
commentary telling how Peter,
John and Paul were transformed
by the Spirit of Chirst and how
our lives could also be changed.
Mrs. Louise Oke, accompanied
by Miss Ann Brodie, sang "This
Wonderful Look of Love."
The speaker for the afternoon,
Mrs. E. Jackson, pointed out that
Easter is both a sad and a glad
time. Sad because of the
Crucifixion but glad because of
the Resurrection. She said
because of what happened on that
KING SIZE
first Easter we have a living
Lord. The Resurrection is the
most significant thing in our
world today. Mrs. Jackson stated
that bringing the resurrected
Christ into our lives, individually
and nationally is the only hope we
have for making a better world.
So far as the church is con-
cerned the message of Easter is
in the declaration "Christ is
Risen." When the church is a
body of men and women who
fervently believe that Christ is
risen from the dead, then the
world will listen.
Evening UCW
Guest speakers at the UCW
evening unit meeting, April 5,
were Mrs. Margaret Epp and
Miss Jane Harris who spoke on
Adolescent Homes for Boys.
They explained the workings of
the Epp Home where they have
five boys along with their own
two children.
A lively discussion between the
members and the guest speakers
resulted in UCW being informed
about the difficulties, the joys
and discipline at the Home. They
also talked about how the com-
munity is involved and the
speakers made a' plea for
grandparents so the boys could
learn and benefit from .the
companionship of. grandparents.
Mrs. Glen Fisher, leader, was
in ehargeof the openingexercises,
with Mrs. Don MacGregor
leading a worship service
relating to Easter. She read a
poem, "One Single Event." Mrs.
John Taylor assisted with the
scripture reading.

Fashion conscious women
eager to see 'what's new' were
able to get a glimpse of Spring
and Summer fashions at two
shows presented in the area
recently.
Last week, it was at the
Fashion Show sponsored at the
Pineridge Chalet by the Huron
Country Playhouse guild.
Members and friends ably
modeled many smart ensembles
which were supplied by The
Wedge of Clinton.
Over 200 women attended the
event and enjoyed the parade of
clothes which were commented
on by Peg Menzies of Clinton, and
the music supplied by Marilyn
Doyle on piano.
Monday of this week, "Spring
into Spring" a show sponsored by
the adult association of Brownies
and Guides presented clothes
from The Junction in Exeter.
Everything from sleep and swim
wear to sports and evening
clothes were modelled before a
packed house at SHDHS
auditorium.
