you — the only way we can have
this joy is to have faith through
love, Mrs. Whilsmith said we
have three choices -- to give up
on God, to obey God's laws and
other laws and hopefully this will
get us right with God, but Paul
says the only way we can get
right with God is to let Him come
into our lives taking over com-
pletely. Class will continue April

Branch 540 was well
represented at the Royal
Canadian Legion District A
Convention held at Branch 28,
Chatham over the weekend with

servers. The total attendance
being 292 delegates 150 of which
were accredited or voting
delegates.
Too bad Saturday and Sunday
couldn't have been turned around
and you may have guessed the
reason. Our parade and Act of
RemEmbrance was held at 12:00
noon Sunday, April 11. My oh my
was it ever cold, with high winds
and snow, however let meassure
you this didn't dampen the spirit
of we old hardy vets, because we
held our parade anyway and it
was one of the best it hasheen my
privilege to attend. But you can
bet your bottom dollar it didn't
take, long to clear the streets
when the parade was dismissed.
Ordinary and life members of
Branch 540 are again reminded
of Branch nominations and
elections. Please make a special
effort to attend these most im-
portant meetings and make your
choice of officers the democratic
way through your ballot. If you do
not attend and DO NOT use your
ballot then you might as well
button your lip for anything you
may want to say about the final
result will be for naught.
Be there Comrades and let us
have a real strong vote of con-
fidence for our .1976-77 President
and Executive — whoever they
may be. Committee Chairmen
are reminded that the deadline
for submissions to The Lucan
Legion Letter will be Tuesday,
April 20, and this of course in-
cludes our Ladies Auxiliary.
May I take this opportunity to
wish all my Comrades and
readers a Very Happy Easter and
may the Easter Bunny be good to
each and every one of you.
And that's 30 for this week —
Jim Robertson, chairman of
Lucan Bible Society, has an-
nounced there will be another
Walkathon for the Bible Society,
June 5. Last year's 10 mile walk
through the country netted the
Society $1200 which was used for
translation work on the Bible in
Taiwan,
This year he hopes they will
raise enough to. buy a Bible van
also for the mountain people of
Taiwan.
The walk starts out in, Lucan,
proceeds to the Lucan Con-
servation area where the par-
ticipants have lunch and then
return to the town.
A planning meeting will be held
at the Pentecostal Church, May 2,
when pledge forms will be given
out to those interested.
