Later in the afternoon they all
returned to Exeter to the home of
Mrs. Haist where they had
supper. The occasion was the
birthday of Mrs. Haist.

Centre was well attended.

About 50 ladies attended the
Easter meeting of the United
Church Women. Ladies from
Cromarty and Zion were guests.
Mrs. Lee Webber opened the
meeting with an Easter call to
worship followed with prayer.
Mrs. Reg Hodgert read the
scripture lesson and the
' meditation, Easter Morning
Dawn.
A reading, "Two Aspects of the
Resurrection" was given by Mrs.
Webber.
A piano duet was played by
Agnes Bray and Janet Bray. A
reading "On Easter Morn" was
given by Mrs. Arnold Cann and
Easter readings and prayer were
given by Mrs. Webber.
Mrs. Glen Stewart had charge
of the business, minutes, roll call,
cards of thanks, and treasurer's
report were given.
Some of the members are going
to visit the shut-ins at Easter. It
was decided to get Easter lilies
for the church for Easter Sunday.
Mrs. Reg Hodgert introduced
the guest speakers for the

to learn of the death of Maurice
Murray at the home of Mr. &
Mrs. Bob Murray, Sarnia, early
Sunday. Mr. & Mrs, Murray were
on their way to their home here,
following a couple of months
holiday in Florida.

accompanied Mr. & Mrs. Wayne
Hughes and Michael for a
vacation in Florida recently. The
Mellins' extended their trip,
enjoying a cruise to Jamaica,
Haita and Nassau.

funeral of WS. Squire's father,

Mrs. H. Caldwell, leader of the
losing side, stated that a pot luck
dinner will be held at annual
meeting April 21.
Mrs. G. Drummond presented
a gift to Jill McLellan, a recent
Provincial Honour winner and
also to the leaders of the club,
"Baking Bread."

Caldwell and Grace Sararas for
lucky chairs, to Mrs. E, Kin-
sman, grandmother with themost
great grandchildren; to Mrs.
Wm. J. Caldwell for the birthday
nearest the meeting and for the
most buttons; Mary Broadfoot,
for the shortest grandmother;
Ruby Triebner for the most
grandchildren.
Ruby Finlayson won the doily
donated by Mrs. Caldwell and
Mrs. Ball.
Mrs. Triebner gave courtesy
remarks and acted as auctioneer
for the yard sale which was lots of
fun and quite profitable,
Mrs. Vern Alderdice chaired
the program and lunch was
served by Mrs. J. Sinclair and
Mrs. S. Pepper.
