Mrs. Russell Finkbeiner and her committee, Mrs. Cliff Russell and Mrs, Donna Bushfield, were in charge of an Easter program, with the resurrection as its theme. The resurrection story was read from "Good News for Modern Man", and prayer was offered, Mrs. Ervin Ratz, Mrs. Douglas Gill, Mrs. Harold Fahner and Mrs. Loyd Lamport sang, with Mrs. Gordon Fink- beiner accompanying the singing. Mrs, Russell Finkbeiner, Mrs. Russell, Mrs. Bushfield, Miss Nola Faist, Mrs. Lloyd Hey, Mrs. Ross Pickering, Mrs. Nelson Lamport and Mrs. Gill reenacted the visit of the women to the tomb,the message of the angels, Elimville 4-H discuss stitches By KATHY COOPER ELIMVILLE The sixth meeting of Elimville II was held Monday night at Mrs. Floyd Cooper's. The uses of the satin and sheaf filling stitches were discussed and plans for Achievement Day were made. For demonstration, the leaders showed the members the French Knot. The meeting ended with all the members finishing their 'Learning stiches' article. Short Course Twenty one institute members and friends gathered at Elimville Hall Thursday for a short course, "Choosing your Fabric" con- ducted by the extension branch of the Department of Agriculture. Personals A large number from the community attended Family Night sponsored by the Thames Road-Elimville manse com- mittee at Kirkton-Woodham Community Centre, Friday evening. Mr. & Mrs. Delmar Skinner, Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Routly, Mr. & Mrs, John Batten, Mr, Allan Johns and Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper attended the Grand Decoration of Chivalry for Mr, Don MacGregor at South Huron District High School, Saturday evening. Mr. & Mrs. A. Edwards and family of Scarborough were guests of Mr. & Mrs. J. L. Wilson, Saturday. Squire Herdman is in St. Joseph's Hospital where he underwent surgery, Monday. Mrs. Ina Johns visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. John Batten, Mr. & Mrs. G. A. Fairbrother, Mrs. Ii. Lapsley and son David of Kitchener were guests of Mr. & Mrs. J. L. Wilson, Sunday. HUGH MORENZ SHIPKA Wins Max Trophy Mr. & Mrs. Murray Reid journeyed to Toronto, April 1, to participate in the National Citizen's Coalition annual presentation of its award, "The Max." The 'Max' trophy, a beaver gnawing on a dollar sign is awarded to the person who presents the best illustration of governmental waste of tax• payer's money, as determined by Mr. Maxwell Henderson, the former auditor general of Canada. Murray was a runner up to the winner with his essay. The presentation was covered by all the news media and was shown on local news and by all TV stations. After the presentation Murray and Anne enjoyed a pleasant dinner accompanied by their daughter Sandra of Toronto. Personals The last euchre party for this season was held Wednesday evening at Shipka Community Centre, Winners were, ladies high, Mrs. Hugh Morenz; ladies low, Mrs. Sheila Massie; men's high, Elgin Rader, Dashwood; men's low, Earl Ratz; most lone hands, Tom Banda. Alf Burt, of Manitoulin Isand who had come for a visit with his sister and husband, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Turnbull, took ill last week and is in Strathroy hospital. Mrs. Hugh Morenz visited Friday in London with Lynda and Persephone Morenz, and Jean Nicklom. Mr. & Mrs. Stephen Franklin and Denise of Toronto, visited on the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Dick Zielman. Mark Gibson of Crediton spent the weekend with his grand- parents Mr. & Mrs, Arnold Keller. Sunday visitors with the Kellers, included Mr. & Mrs. Larry Gibson and Peter of Huron Park, Mr. & Mrs. Don Keller of Goderich, Jack Keller, Listowel, and Mr. & Mrs. Roy Gibson of Crediton. The Gibson's also at- tended a Lutheran church rally in Mitchell, and their son Mark returned home with them. Mrs. Clara Ratz is a patient in South Huron hospital. It was decided to charge four dollars a plate for meals catered for, to attempt to reorganize the nursery, to invite the Explorers to the June meeting, to collect Canada Packers' labels with a view to securing kitchen equipment, and to place the UCW poetry book in the Sunday School cupboard. Thirteen members of the UCW had met Wednesday afternoon to work on lap robes for wheelchair patients Work completed' by Mrs. Gordon Finkbeiner and Mrs. Della Sims was on display at Thursday's meeting. Mrs, Leonard Wein, Mrs. Lloyd Lamport and Mrs. Chris Dinney served lunch. Personals Mrs. Hugo Schenk, Mrs. Earl Lippert, Larry, Linda, Lisa and Margaret Brennan spent a week in Florida. They travelled in a motor home, going as far as Boynton Beach where Earl's brother resides. It was a delightful holiday, the young people enjoying scuba diving lessons. Flowers in Zion United Church Sunday morning were from the funeral service of William Parsons, husband of Almeeda Finkbeiner.
