The Penguins took early command of the game with a 3-0 lead in the first period with two goals by Robbie Minderlein and another by Harold Borden. Assists went to Mike Mills and Tom Dinney. Avco worked hard for a comeback in the second frame outscoring the Penguins 4-2. Avco markers went to Brad Scott, Robbie Dekoker, Don Beaver and D. Jackson. Dan Morrissey andTom Dinney scored for the Penguins. Harold Borden scored twice more in the final period to clinch the win for the Penguins, Robbie Dekoker added the final marker for the Avcos, Pee Wees The Huron Park Pee Wee team thumped the Exeter Pee Wee B team 8-5 in an exhibition game Saturday. Huron Park goals were scored, by Rich Lather (2), Dorn Stuckless (3) Steve O'Neil (2) and Mike Gallagher. Scoring for Exeter were: Trevor Boyle, Wayne Smith, and a pair by Bruce Shaw. The other Leaf goal was dumped into the npt by Bobby Rook, assisted by Colin Tripp at 10.30 in the first period, A scoring effort by Tony Jones, assisted by Trevor Gilchrist and David Denny resulted in the lone marker for the Bruins. Leaf David McDonald was injured during the game and required four stituches to his head. Bantams The Huron Park Penguins Bowlers go to Gait A team from the Exeter Legion Auxiliary travelled to Galt over the weekend to compete in the regional five pin bowling tour- nament and were successful in placing eighth out of forty eight teams. The win gives them a berth in the Provincial tour- nament which will be held in Sudbury on Saturday May 15th where forty teams from all over Ontario will be vieing for the Provincial trophy. Campbell was ejected from the first game near the end of the third period by Referee Barry Brownlee when he was pinned with a gross misconduct. Along with Campbell, defen- ceman Charlie Robertson took a game penalty when he was caught spearing. He will be gone for at least three games, and possibly more if the 011A deems SO, Campbell has the choice of taking a two game suspension or paying $25 to be reinstated. If the 011A decides, they can waive the $25 and suspend Campbell. In other action, some of which took place on the ice, the Jets rolled to a 6-2 win Sunday but dropped a 7-5 decision in Strat- ford Tuesday evening.
