Charges laid TWo charges under the Nar- cotic Control Act have been laid by the Pinery Park detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police. Other 'activities included one charge under the Criminal Code and four charges under the Highway Traffic Act. , Damages have been estimated by police at $500 following an ac- cident February 22 in Southcott Pines when a vehicle driven by John Patrick Soldan, RR 2, Grand Bend struck a tree. Mr. Soldan received minor injuries as a result of the mishap. Constable G. W. Clark in- vestigated. Ontario Hydra has advised Tuckersinith Township Council of increased street light rates for the year. Clerk James McIntosh told council at its session Tuesday night it will mean a one mill increase for the areas af- fected. Alan Sourbutts of Vanastra, who ,attended the session, was given approval in principle to prepare a large signs directory board to be located in Vanastra near the main entrance. The sign-. map would locate and identify each of the various businesses and factories centred in the in- dustrial areas. Mr. Sourbutts is to look for the exact site and bring back his site proposal for council's approval. He said the sign would cost about $300 and the owners of the businesses listed on the sign-map would be responsible for the cost. Floodlights for the sign would be extra, he said. Council repealed the by-law preparing the way for the closing of Fifth Avenue entrance to Vanastra off Highway No. 4. I C.A.S.
