IRVIN RAPER DASHWOOD There were 19 tables in play at the euchre sponsored by Dash- wood WI Tuesday, February 17, at the Dashwood Community centre, Winners were: ladies' high, Elizabeth Hendrick; low, Barbara Masse; men's high, Elgin Rader; low, Peter Deichert; lone hands, Mary Mosser; hidden score, Jessie Rader. The next euchre will be held Tuesday, February 24, Mrs, Earl Keller and Mrs. Ray Rader; Mrs, Delmar Miller and Mrs. Marjorie Green attended the leaders' training school at By MANUEL -COTS Dashwood WI The postponed February meeting of Dashwood WI was held February 18 with the Citizenship and World Affairs group in charge and Mrs. Emil Becker chairlady. Roll call was answered with a current event, Mrs. Howard Datars discussed the motto, "All nations smile in the same language." Sheila Willert, guest speaker spoke on her trip to Mexico which was most interesting. She also had on display many lovely things she had brought from Mexico, Mrs. Ray Rader, president, was in charge of the business, The 4-H girls were guests and club no 2 presented a skit, "What goes into a loaf of bread." Club no. 3 also presented a skit, "Score." The girls who had received county and provincial honors were presented gifts as were the leaders. A letter from the president was read, Dashwood Men's Club Jack Brintnell, Baden, was guest speaker at Dashwood Men's Club dinner meeting Monday, February 23rd catered to by Dashwood .WI. He is manager of Master Feeds and spoke on "Fellowship in a World Gone Mad", Farmers were special guests. PAYING ATTENTION — is a must when you're playing bingo. Charles Martene has returned borne following a few days stay a South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Hendrick, Mr. & Mrs, Eldon Datars, Exeter and Mr. & Mrs, Clayton Thomp- son, Kincardine, spent two weeks in Hollywood, Florida. The Hendricks had to leave home by skidoo. Mrs. Lloyd Hendrick, Exeter, spent two weeks with Elaine and Allen Hendrick. Mr.' & Mrs. Dave Rader and Stacey were Sunday guests with Mr. & Mrs. Jim Patterson and Stacey, Grand Bend. Mrs. Laura Weido is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, Mr. & Mrs. Ray Weido, Oak- ville, spent the weekend in town and visited with Ray's mother, Mrs. Laura Weido. Mrs. Bill Wagner is confined to St. Joseph's Hospital, London, Well over 200 people attended the event which was held by the Hen- son and Exeter Kinsmen clubs to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis fund. Personals Mr. & Mrs, Adolph Keller accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Rader motored to Brant- ford Wednesday to attend the Thursday funeral of Mrs, Bar- bara Telfer. They stayed with Mr. & Mrs. Earl Telfer where Adolph became ill and was left in London with Mr. & Mrs. Bill Baker under the doctor's care. Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan spent a few days at Sarnia with Mr. & Mrs. Robert Cornelius and family. Mr. & Mrs. Stuart Wolfe ac- companied Mr, & Mrs. Lloyd Eagleson of Exeter to Margate Florida where they spent almost 4 -weeks lounging and visiting many places of interest. The weather was lovely and they had a most enjoyable time. Lillian Ulens and Mr. & Mrs, Hugh Adair, Kim and Orno, were guests at the marriage of Kathy Ulens, second daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Bud Ulens, and Paul Enright, on Friday. The can- dlelight ceremony was solem- nized in St, Marys Catholic Church, Mississauga. Stan Horner who has been hospitalized for the past two weeks has returned to his home. Mrs. Vera Brophey is recuperating from her recent surgery, in the Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Hutchinson and their daughter and son-in- law, Mr. & Mrs, Pieter Wiersma, Strathroy, have returned to their home, following a holiday in Florida and other Southern States. Rev. Donald Stuart, Exeter, was guest preacher in the United Church, Sunday. He challenged his listeners to exemplify the characteristics of Jesus — sin- cerity, humility, fidelity and the willingness to forgive others. By the way: The Conservative convention is over. One thing we noticed — one of the twelve candidates didn't shake hands with the newly-elected leader. He made a Hellyer mistake. Denise Glavin was an evening visitor last week with Cindy Prest, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Hodgins and Mr. & Mrs. Norman returned home Thursday after enjoying a holiday in Florida. Jane Corbett and Mr, John Becker of Guelph visited over the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Charles Corbett and David, Kathleen Morley visited Friday afternoon with Mrs. Violet Allison and Mrs. Dorothy McDonald of Ailsa Craig. Mr. & Mrs, Joe Durand and Adam of London were weekend visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Jim Morley. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Fenton and family visited Sunday with her mother Mrs. Annie Knapton of St. Mary's. Jim Robinson received his drainage certificate at the recent Drainage Contractors Training school in London. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Kelly Robinson. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Baker Sr. visited on the weekend with daughter Sandra, Mrs, Anthony Regier Jr. ' who is a patient in St. John's Hospital in Detroit. Roger Ratz and Bill Kraft returned Friday evening from a weeks holidays in Acapulco, Mexico. The two felt a slight tremor from the earthquake in Guatemala, 700 miles from where they were.
