New series
of sermons
A new series of sermons was
begun at the Sunday morning
service of the Lucan United
Church when Rev. Ewart
Madden told his congregation
that all members are involved in
being elders and stewards, even
though not officially appOinted.
He said that even those who
have "turned off" from the
Church, for whatever reason, are
the responsibility of the mem-
bers ; In Ephesians Paul tells us
that elders care and shepherd the
flock, each having trust and love
over a few families in each
congregation.
We should be in church, not
because we are Christians, but
because we are "needy" people
and must have Christ in our lives.
Next Sunday Miss Jean Darling,
Missionary on furlough from
India, will speak to the
congregation. All members and
friends are especially invited to
hear her message of inspiration
and blessing.
The following Sunday,
February 8, an af ternoonof music
and singing will be provided by
"Compassion of Canada" at the
Lucan Public School. Offering to
work of Compassion.
